Was sleeved in July, but just wanted to tell you all that you got this. It's going to be rough at first but when those times come just remember that the recovery process is only temporary and when you

October 3rd! I'm nervous! And also excited! Btw, thanks for labeling this thread "2018." There are two other October threads that don't have the year marked, and I really hope some of us stay in

I've started a list to help people find their surgery buddies. This is supposed to just be sleevers, but I bet some others snuck on. It's supposed to be all the October sleevers, but I'm 100% sure I m

Vitamins: I have the BariatricAdvantage Multi-chewy vitamins (in cherry, but my doctor's office let me try the orange, too). They taste just fine, but two of them at a time is too much and makes me feel sick. This wasn't a problem pre-op (when I tried them at the doctor's office), but new tum is definitely not into them.

Puree/soft phase foods: If you haven't had a chance to try Bariatric Eating's egg custard, do yourself a favor and make some. (If you're on lifting restriction, maybe get a kitchen buddy to help you get it into and out of the oven. The water bath makes it heavy. I waited until my spouse was home to make it, and that felt like a good call.) I followed their recipe with only one variation: I did half Splenda and half xylitol, because I find that mix doesn't taste like fake sugar to me. It makes a really thick, satisfying, delicious custard.

Hi everyone. I had my Gastric Sleeve on 17 Oct. I've been home for 2 days now. The healing process is slow, but is getting better each day.

Congrats to everyone on their journey.

My surgery was on October 18th. I am 3 days post op and feeling excited about the future. Still have gas pains but those are getting better. Just dealing with the caffeine withdrawal headaches ?

Officially halfway through my pre-op liquid diet and discovering that I can be quite hard to live with sometimes. ? 7 days and I am losing my mind. My surgery isn't until the 29th and I am feeling like a neglectful wife/mother for missing so many events this week (my hubby's b-day dinner, my sons team dinner for football, sweetest day dinner with the family and my sons playoff selection team/community cookout). I go, so physically I am in the room, but as I sit clutching my protein shake watching everyone else chew their meals, I'm not enjoying myself, I'm just feeling jealous and bitter. (Partially because I had to help prepare this food that I can no longer enjoy in some of these cases.) my husband and I went to see the new Halloween movie this weekend and I cried through it...not because I was scared but because the smell of the popcorn was driving me crazy! I want to stick with this and lose the weight so that I am healthier and more active but I don't want to be this miserable all the time. Does it get easier after surgery, like once you finally transition to normal foods?

Also. when it comes to goal weights, do you have to listen to your PCP in order for the surgery to be considered successful? My husband and I have always had a goal weight of 130-140 in mind for me but, because I am only 5'1" my PCP claims I need to be 115, which I don't feel is realistic considering I haven't weighed that since the 4th grade. If I manage to pull out of this funk and get myself together, I want to know what number I am looking for and what my actual goal is.

I'm on purees still and can I recommend the baked ricotta dinner... omg yum. Full of protein (cheesy goodness) :)

Hi kellyp. I had my surgery on the 16th and I feel the same as you, every day gets better. Yesterday was the first day I didn’t need a nap lol! Today I’m going to try to go for a nice, long walk. I’m getting sick of the protein shakes! I never thought I’d be excited to eat puréed food! ? Good luck to you!

Hi @kellyp2003! We have a quite a few Oct. 17th sleevers around these parts. Glad you’re on the other side and healing well!
Hey! I was sleeved on October 17th. I'm 5 days post op and still having some esophagus/stomach spasms. Feels like contractions sometines. Anyone else have this?

Ty. I am the same way. I've been sleeping in the day because I am so tired and doubt even realized I've dozed off. I'm finding it hard to get the shakes in. Im just not hungry. Im barely getting a bottle of water in a day.

Oh gosh yes. It feels like I'm dying. I hate that the most. Oh yeah and the coughing spells I get.

Counting down. Friday 10/26/2018 is my big day. I'm excited and I know it won't be easy but I'm ready.

After starting liquid diet, I lost 6 pounds before surgery. I am still swollen skin I gained a pound since the surgery.

Here are a few post op photos. I have five incisions. 20181022_095515.jpeg20181022_095446.jpeg20181022_095426~2.jpeg

I know I've posted a couple times that I'm not sure I'm actually going through with it. Today is the last day to cancel my surgery without a hefty fee and I've decided I'm going to do it. My therapist helped me reframe it as this is something I'm doing for me (ease in travel, health, being able to stay in my multi-story house, comfort), even though I really don't want to. It's helped. My SIL bought her plane ticket and is coming up and this is actually happening. This board has been a real help.
