Was sleeved in July, but just wanted to tell you all that you got this. It's going to be rough at first but when those times come just remember that the recovery process is only temporary and when you

October 3rd! I'm nervous! And also excited! Btw, thanks for labeling this thread "2018." There are two other October threads that don't have the year marked, and I really hope some of us stay in

I've started a list to help people find their surgery buddies. This is supposed to just be sleevers, but I bet some others snuck on. It's supposed to be all the October sleevers, but I'm 100% sure I m

I started off the day alright, then I ate my iron supplement chewable. It tasted pretty good but boy did it make me nauseous. I’ve heard about this side effect before with iron supplements. Anyways, I felt so terrible I couldn’t really eat or drink anything for the rest of the day. I think I need to take things slower. This week I’m going to focus exclusively on getting my liquids and proteins in and I’ll start with vitamins next week.

Slow and steady...
I had my sleeve done 10/10/18. I am currently in the hospital in extreme pain. I have a blood clot in my stomach. Apparently it is very rare. My doctor has only seen it 3 times in 20 + years. Has anyone else had this issue? Or am I alone

Had surgery today in Mexico and vomiting blood.

doctor and nurses says normal. I don’t have a drain so I figure I’m throwing up the blood left in stomach ?

anyone else have/had this issue?

my pain and vomiting aren’t being managed well either ?

I’m so sorry you are having issues. I didn’t have a drain either, but I never threw up blood. I threw up a LOT after surgery but never blood. I hope someone else can offer more information. Good luck!!

Feeling a bit frustrated today. It’s so hard to get all my liquids and Proteins in. Worked on it all day today and only got about half of each. I’m working on finishing a smoothie before bed but I am only about half done. It’s just so slow to drink it and I’m full.

I went for a walk (doc recommended 45 mins) but only could do about 20 minutes. Didn’t manage to get my Vitamins either today. I’m working on it and I know tomorrow is another day.

Hoping this gets easier!

I’m in the same boat. To get a 6oz protein shake in takes me 1.5 hours. It’s horrible. I’m supposed to have items in between but I just can do it. I’m so full! I’m going to be talking with my Dr about switching to the vitamin patches because I can’t get my vitamins in either.

Ehhh I've been stalled (bouncing around in the same half pound range) for like a week. (10/3 surgery.) I'm not too stressed. The body has a lot to adjust to.

I had sad surgery same day and I am doing the same the doctor told me not to worry about the weight part just yet and focus on getting the vitamins, liquid and protein but I try hard to do that and not stop on the scale

So sorry to hear about the blood clot! I haven’t had it but maybe ask on the vet forums? Best of luck for a speedy recovery!!!!

Same here.. my surgery was 10/1 and my scale has barely budged since then so I stopped checking it as often. I’m sure it’ll pick up for us soon!!

Yikes! I’m sorry to hear you’re having a tough time! I was sick afterwards but no blood. I did have a drain. I would request an endoscopy if it gets worse!

Hi Sara, you can search in the forums for “vomiting blood” (add quotes) and there are some posts that might help. It looks like others have experienced what you have.

i wish you a speedy recovery from that. What hospital did you have your surgery. I went to BatriacPal MX in Tiajuana, had my surgery yesterday and so far so good. I walked around the hospital 3 times, using my breathing machine, and the nurses are on top of giving me pain medication. The only time I felt pain was when I coughed one time. Right now I’m just hungry sine I didn’t eat all day except for munching on ice.

Thank you. I’m at hospital Ángeles in Juarez. No more vomiting blood and they finally started giving me meds. There’s a big language barrier but I’m using a translation app for a nurse.

the pain is mostly in my lower back though.

Pain in your lower back seams weird. I had no pain down in my back.

I was allowed to swallow pills (Tylenol) in the hospital. I've been swallowing my Prilosec capsule every day since I got home and Actigal (to prevent gallstone formation) since 10 days after my surgery.
I wouldn't take huge or solid ones (I mean, the Actigal is really big, but it's a capsule, so I'm guessing it breaks down in the stomach). Like a normal One-A-Day vitamin might be too much, but Prilosec is definitely fine, according to my team.
Thank you so much. I was opening my Prilosec
