May 4, 20188 yr I am financing due to being 38.5 bmi. The advantage is that I can be scheduled two weeks after meeting the surgeon! I believe the lapband is best for me. Anyone else financing?

May 4, 20188 yr Author Sent the sleeve. It was a typo LOL. I'm getting the gastric sleeve the second week of June and I don't know how to at my post. Please be kind.
May 4, 20188 yr Author and yes, I would never get a lap band. I have not heard of any long-term success as it seems to slip even years and years after being put in. My mom got a gastric sleeve six months ago and has had success.
May 4, 20188 yr Good luck on your journey and to answer your question, no sorry I didn’t finance. Insurance covered my surgeries.

Did you have to do a down payment?

May 16, 20197 yr How exactly are you financing? I'm needing my surgery at the end of June and I have no idea how I'm going to come up with 4000:(
May 17, 20197 yr I too am financing / self pay. I was going to go with Prosper but I did not like their interest rate. I am getting a loan from my credit union. Prosper was very nice to work with.
May 18, 20197 yr Hi all - Am very upset to have learned that my "top flight" BCBS PPO will not approve my DS (being done 9 years after a sleeve). Have you found financing through your hospital billing/financial assistance office to be an option? Can't believe I may have to self pay.

Will they pay for RNY gastric bypass instead, or they won't pay for any bariatric surgery?Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
February 4, 20206 yr Curious - I am just looking for info at this point. We have two policies, but my BMI is 35 snd I don’t want to have to get a diagnosis of diabetes (currently have PCOS and borderline diabetic and that is bad enough. Not sure if Tricare is less picky about co-morbidities than BCBS of Illinois so despite double coverage I still may have to pay. I was wondering what the cash charge was for the surgery part alone (I mean minus pre-op workup which my insurance should cover).
