I was told post my surgery I would be on Lovenox injections. on all my other surgeries I was given Xerelto pills. Are these shots really better than my pills?. I have no problem giving or receiving shots, it. just seems rather fussy for the results. How long were you on blood thinners?. I am currently on blood thinners as my surgery was this week 4/10. Instead of the typical 10 day cycle, my doctor put me on 14 days and a higher dose as I have a family history of blood clots. I'm not sure why they are injections as opposed to pills, so sorry I can't answer that one. Good luck on your recovery!!!

I gave myself one injection per day of Lovenox for 6 days after I left the hospital.
