Nervous

  • Popular Post

Pre-op surgery November 27th I'm nervous. I want so desperately to lose the weight and keep it off this time. I'm doing this by myself and I wish I had someone to exercise with. My goal is I just want to be able to run again. Even at the age of 50. My kids are all grown up. And I just want to do something for me to start my life over20171002_1944071.jpg

  • You can do it! I turned 50 in June. It was a good kick in the ass to get things going in the right direction. My kids are still home for a while, 15 and 9. I have time to make an impact on my

  • Why be nervous? I was excited to have a real chance to turn my life around as you should be. I am as excited as I was when I had both knees replaced. No more aches and pains, I can do a swap meet now!

Sounds like me except I've never run before. Maybe later this summer. I'm set for Jan 9th.

50+ssallday, you will do great. I'm right there too. I am 48 and waiting on surgery date. I too have worked most of my life fulfilling the wants and needs on others. I now want to do this for me. I have a 15 year old as well as a 13 year old at home. I wish you was near me, we could be walking buddies.

I teach 4th grade, and there’s always food around. Chips, candy, you name it. And I LOVE food. If I can stick to the pre-op liquid diet, anybody can. I’d punch somebody for a taco today, but I know one day, I’ll get to have another delicious taco! Looking forward to it!

It's good you found an online support group, then! [emoji4] I just joined as well. My surgery is on December 28, and my husband, mom, and 2 friends know and are being very supportive, but I'm waiting until after the surgery to decide if I want to tell more people, so I definitely want the online support as well.
My biggest concerns right now are the liquid diet (terrified I'll be hungry the whole time), and that I'm supposed to try and lose 1-2 lbs/week before the liquid diet, which I've been trying to do for over a month with almost no success. I'm great at planning out my food for work all day but then I'm starving when I come home and eat too much. My surgeon says not too worry, the liquid diet will be very effective, but I'm nervous about being able to even DO that diet. Ugh.

The liquid diet wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but the process is most definitely mental. On the days I cheated, I had convinced myself that it was hard. The protein shakes made it hard in the restroom and I was drinking almost 100 ozs of water. But I did it. I'm scheduled for 6am tomorrow. You can do it. Just think about the after.
