  1. Congrats on your success so far. Good job. Such great information. I am 3 weeks post op and feeling frustrated already. I hope I can share such great news down the line.
  2. 12 days post surgery. I'm not really stomach hungry, I guess I'm head hungry. Still on full liquids. Hoping to skip purée straight to soft. I know how all of you feel.
  3. @nurse123 my surgery was Dec 5th. I am four days out. I went through the options program, so the phase plans are set out for you. I was worried about the same thing. According to my paperwork, I should be getting in equal to or greater than 48 ounces of liquids this includes protein up to easy 28. Puree does not start until day 15. I set a timer for every 15 minutes, and I am able to drink 2 ounces every 15 minutes, that's 8 Oz's an hour. This is working for me, I started this on day 3 yesterday. I know how you feel. I'm one day behind you.
  4. I am on my last day of preop diet. I lost 4 lbs 8 oz, notice I didn't say only lost. We need to celebrate the small victories as victories. I was somewhat apprehensive when going in today to weight in, but it all worked out. I scheduled for surgery in the morning. @Jessie_5 I'm sure you will be fine.
  5. @SuzyQutie most definitely. How is it going? We on home stretch now. I will keep in touch.
  6. @Frankette thanks so much for the encouragement. Hope all goes well for you. Actually my hunger has decreased, three more days to go. They say that after surgery the hunger hormone is gone, I hope this is true. ?
  7. ddhudak...I wish you a speedy recovery from your sleeve. Thank you for the kind words. I actually will be glad when my surgery is over. I am already preparing my family. From now on we will look at food for what it is. We will, for the most part eat to live not livr to eat. And you know what, since my options class with Kaiser, I don' even enjoy food like that anymore.
  8. My surgery is also December 5th. I cheated, but felt guilty. But today is a new day. I will do this, I can do this. Also nervous about post op.

  10. You look great. Did you have issues with hair loss?
  11. 50+ssallday, you will do great. I'm right there too. I am 48 and waiting on surgery date. I too have worked most of my life fulfilling the wants and needs on others. I now want to do this for me. I have a 15 year old as well as a 13 year old at home. I wish you was near me, we could be walking buddies.
  12. Yea, let your body adjust to the new you. Your surgery was just a few days ago. Take it easy. How much liquid are you able to take in now?
  13. This is just the beginning. After the 12 weeks you have to be approved for surgery.
  14. I got my approval yesterday, no surgery date yet. I'm with Kaiser.
  15. Don't be afraid, I waited and waited for years. Years that I regret. Think of the freedom and healthier life you will have. I would not mention it to my family yet. Talk to your doctor first. Once it becomes a possibility then talk to your support group, this might be family or friends.
  16. Talk to your primary doctor to make sure you qualify first. What type of insurance do you have?
  17. Happy you made it to surgery day. Good luck with the recovery. You will do great. Stay hydrated.
  18. Good luck to you, I pray evertything goes well. So exciting to be headed for new adventure.
  19. I am 47 years old, and i am just starting this process to a new me. My first options class is tomorrow, Good luck to you with your surgery.
