Try to keep a positive attitude. 31 pounds in three months is over 10 pounds a month. Take a photo of yourself pre-op and put a photo of yourself now next to it. You should see a difference. Sometimes you lose inches and not weight. Keep positive and stay on track. Everyone's weight loss journey is their own. You will lose weight at your own rate. Don't judge your weight loss against anyone else.

Give up the granola, and probably the yogurt and have dense Protein or a Protein Shake in the morning.

Give up the fruit until you have lost your weight. Fruit is still sugar, even if it is natural and comes with some Fiber.

Granola is a starch if it has oats in it.

The granola and fruit is probably slowing your weight loss, give it up for 2 weeks and see what happens.

What was your start weight? This is a good reminder of expectations as well. Many programs suggest eliminating Protein Shakes once you are on your normal diet cause they are high calorie. Don't be discouraged - it's a marathon, not a race.

MY START WEIGHT WAS 259.0

31 pds in 3 months? That's an awesome loss! I would personally prefer to lose slow vs rapidly but it seems to be out of my control. I'm down 43 pds since my surgery date 10 weeks ago. I think it's important to realize everyone has their own journey and our bodies are different. :) chin up, you're doing awesome!

That is totally awesome! I think I'd lost 27# at three months and was pretty proud of that. Don't let stories of people losing sixty pounds in two months discourage you! We all lose differently. You've got this!

It takes a lot of guts, strength and perseverance to keep going. I am four years and lost all motivation a year ago when I started gaining. No matter what I do, I cannot lose now. I would really encourage you to stay in a support group and get involved with positive things like yoga and friends to exercise with. Good luck.

I can understand that. I'm 11 weeks post op and I have lost 34#. It's seems slow and I have yet to drop a size in my clothes (I have tightened my bra, but that's it). I was hoping by now I would be in smaller scrubs. They are definitely looser, but no size change yet. It's tough. I am a revision from lap band and I was slow then too. You just need to think it didn't come over night nor will you lose it over night. I am just keep doing my thing. Going to they gym 4 days a week for an hour. I'm trying not to go crazy, because I think that's what knocked me down last time. (I was going 6 days a week and sometimes twice a day, which isn't sustainable for me). I figure this way if I start to really stall I can bump it up.

Just keep working it and it will happen.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
