It's so OK to be nervous, this is life changing. My 2nd journey started 4/3 with my pre-op visit - surgery was 5/1. Down 24 lbs since 4/3. Remember to stay positive, be prepared, and know that

I'm 2 days pot op. The gas pain is real, guys. My incision sites are fine, just slightly painful. I'm trying my best to get the gas out, but I'm so lethargic, I can only stand for a few minutes at a time. Tomorrow I'm supposed to start protein, so wish me luck. I'm having a hard time getting in my clear fluids as it is.
I haven't weighed myself yet, our scale is up stairs and I'm no ready to take on steps yet.

I do wish you luck. Do gas x or Prilosec help with the gas? Feel better!

I'm 4 days post op and the gas pains are no joke. They've eased up so and Gas X helps a little. Walking does help some also. I've been trying to grasp that it's going to take time to get through.

New to the app, new to the forum...I go to my preop visit with anesthesiologist 5/23 and am scheduled for surgery 5/30. Will probably start pre-surgery diet tomorrow because the family isn't home Til Tuesday. Am looking forward to improving health issues and am glad to find y'all

I'm also scheduled for 5/30. I've been on pre-op diet for 6 days. Not too bad.

I have a couple friends who have had the sleeve and they are enjoying life to the fullest and have been for a few months! I wouldn't think the first year is hell unless you have complications. Maybe the first month though. You'll see here that everyone is so different. Some are hungry some have to force themselves to eat.
I'm going the 22 and understand that fear of the unknown. I guess we just have to dive in and deal with what comes. Good luck.

Thank you for easing my anxiety. It went ok. Just a heads up, there might be a lot of pain if a lot of air gets trapped in there. It doesn't happen to everyone but I wish someone had told me about it ahead of time.
I wish you the best of luck tomorrow! Take care

Happy you're on the other side!! I'm assuming I'll have that pain but hoping I don't. Thank you!

I am 4 days post op and had a lot of pain and nausea. I had to stay in the hospital 3 days because I wasn't passing gas and I wasnt keeping anything down. Feeling much better now. I have found sugarfree popsicle, ativan, liquid tyenol and gas x chewebles to be my new best friends.

Hope you are feeling better! It is so interesting how it affects each of us differently. I initially took the capsule tylenlols, but switched to liquid and it went down so smoothly. Hang in there, it does get better!

I had the surgery done on May 8th, so far I feel great, but today (at 2 weeks out) I started with a very sharp pain at biggest incision site on left when I bend down! Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this or should I be worried...my incisions are healed up nicely with no redness or warmth externally

IMO...if u continue with this pain, it changes into something else, radiates to another location, or your abdomen becomes firm and/or painful, get medical attention-

How are you feeling now?

Came home from the hospital Tuesday. I had sleeve May 12 and emergency gall bladder surgery May 22. I went off all pain meds today. I went to my kids band concert. I'm functioning ok yesterday was brutal. A binder and stretch pants are my best friend.

I went in sat to ER when I got the pain from my gallbladder don't mess around with pain

I make 3 weeks post op today and the pain as described in my initial comment is still slightly there when I bend down, i went to the dr last wednesday for my 1st follow up and he assured me it was completely normal to feel that for a few weeks

I'm on Day 3 post op. Mostly still sluggish/taking it easy at home. Very little pain and grateful that my caffeine headache has finally abated a bit. It's been hard to get in the required fluids/protein and the protein shakes I liked before surgery are much less appealing now. Thinking about food quite a bit and how life will change, but still believe I'm doing the right thing and that it'll be for the best. All the best with your surgery!

I had that issue. Before I loved the EAS chocolate shakes. After surgery, i switched to Pure Protein vanilla. Tastes so much better and doesn't make me feel yukky..
