  1. Hope you are feeling better! It is so interesting how it affects each of us differently. I initially took the capsule tylenlols, but switched to liquid and it went down so smoothly. Hang in there, it does get better!
  2. Yes on the pain for 11 days. Today was the first day with no pain, hallelujah! It wasn't as bad the last few days, but still there. I'm on pureed foods til Sunday, then I get to move on to regular food (but no red meat). Thanks - I hate that I'm hungry, too. I'm hoping there is a solution and not just one of those that fall into the small % who are still hungry after surgery. I'm sorry it isn't getting better for you on the liquid diet.
  3. I took it the same way! It must be a good sign Good luck!
  4. I was sleeved with Dr. Wizman, whom I love. I met Dr. Tagger at the hospital when he stopped in to check on me. He was very nice. I did meet a couple of his patients who were pre-op and spoke well about him. I was also told by someone who works at the hospital, that Dr. Tagger's patients love him. Not sure how much this helps you. I do agree with mlbdl that the office is super busy and you have to stay on top of them 100% of the time. That part was the only non-favorable aspect of my experience with their office.
  5. Glad all is going well! That is how I made it through the pre-op diet... keeping an eye on the finish line. It definitely got easier for me on day 4. Good luck!
  6. How is everyone doing? Both, pre and post op'ers. I'm 12 days post op and today is the first day I am starting to feel more like myself. The only issue I'm having is that I'm hungry -- a lot; not head hunger, but physical hunger. I'm going to contact the Drs. office on Monday and see what they tell me.
  7. Ok thanks. I had 4 oz with protein powder. I just wanted to make sure it was ok to go over the 2 oz that my Drs office recommends for protein. Thanks!
  8. Are cream based soups treated the same way broth soups are in the sense you can have unlimited amount? Or are they capped out at 2 oz/ serving? My paperwork is silent on the amount for cream based soups. Thanks!
  9. AGH! I'm feeling that hunger too... let me know what your doctor tells you. I started feeling them AFTER I saw my dr. (my luck!). TMI ALERT Constipation.. oh how I dislike thee! I had that too. I use ALIVE liquid fiber (tastes good) and 2 stool softeners a day. When that wasn't working, I took 2 more stool softeners and it did the trick, although it lead to diarrhea. But I felt good after that. I think most people battle constipation after surgery. I'm just hoping I can nip it in the bud sooner than later. Yesterday was the first day I felt like I could take bigger swallows... which is probably how I made my fluids goal. I don't know how people make it taking only sips! Btw, I'm staying up an hour or so after my bedtime to reach the goal. Do you drink any of the sugar free drinks?
  10. Hi! I'm doing better, but I am still having pain. Esp. On my belly button incision and left side. I saw the dr. Yesterday and he said it is normal. I finally hit my liquid goal yesterday!!!!! It has been so hard for me. I did want to ask you if you were still feeling what you thought was hunger? I've started to feel hungry as of yesterday and am concerned. I'm on the acid reducer pill, so don't think it is acid. How long before you enter the pureed stage?
  11. The mind game is 100% real! In the hospital I couldn't stop dreaming about food. I totally get it. My wife made a pizza for her and my daughter last week & I thought it cruel lol. I'm no longer a big pizza fan, but knowing I can't have it makes all the difference. I too am struggling with fluid intake. I've made it to 60 oz the last days, after staying up late. The crazy part is I am on top of it the entire day. Sigh. Yay for us making it to 1 wk post op! I'm thrilled with my 10.2 lb lose & keeping my eye on the prize!
  12. I've made it up to 57 oz. I'm hoping I can hit 64 oz today.
  13. I was wondering about ordering a compression band. I'm actually surprised they sell them in bigger sizes. Those who posted above, thanks for sharing your stories. I hope it gets easier for all of us very soon!
  14. Sounds like you are doing well!
  15. You are very lucky! It has been very painful for me. I was sleeved 5/1 & I had made plans for next week thinking I would be fine. I'm now rescheduling because I'm still not up to being out of the house. Pain is now manageable, which I am grateful for.
  16. Keep sipping! I'm 4 dp today and everyday I am to get more fluids down. Yesterday I reached 50 oz & am hoping to get closer to 64 today.
  17. Good luck!! Franky 4 days?! Wow! Like Seraya, I was given the option to go home & I took it. They were waking me every 1.5-2 hrs, so I wasn't getting any sleep!!! I did miss the hospital bed once I got home, though. It is much easier to get in and out of.
  18. I've gotten the rumbling too and panicked that I was still hungry. But, I haven't been hungry all day today, so I agree it is probably gas or air trapped in there.
  19. Nice! I'm not allowed to shower til tomorrow morning. I can't wait!!!! And my throat still hurts so bad from having the tube.
  20. It is interesting how it affects different people. I can't imagine going to work so soon! Lots of people say you do feel better on the 4th day after and I hope it is true for me! I'm ready to shower and walk around some more.
  21. I've had some nausea too, but pain is still my biggest problem. Good luck on the 30 oz! I'm up to 22 for the day and it has been constant work to get them in. You def will fee better with each day. I'm envious of those that feel good enough to go to the mall after discharge! We'll be there soon enough.
  22. Hi. I was sleeved 5/1 also. I haven't felt that burning sensation except on my incisions. As other poster said, probably gas. Call your surgeon's office and ask!
  23. Seraya I'm thinking of you! Good luck to all the May 3 sleevers!! I'm still having some pain and gas pains have started, although they are not unbearable. I was discharged and came home, but I miss the hospital bed! Only because it props you up and it is much harder to get out of my normal bed.
