I had sleeve and I have GERD as a result. I take a pill for it. Not sure I would let that be a deciding factor; it's really controllable. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Minute chance of GERD v Malabsorption issues. Risks on both sides.

I had GERD before the sleeve and now I don't have it at all. I guess I'm the exception because the sleeve cured my GERD and didn't give it to me.

Ok peeps, there are enough posts about people needing sleeve to bypass revisions due to GERD, that I'm not sure which path to take. I am planning to go with Dr. Illan in Mexico.
I do not have a history of significant heartburn or acid reflux. I sure don't want the surgery to start it! (I live with someone with terrible GERD, and it is awful!)
What do y'all think?
