Sleeve vs. Bypass

Ok peeps, there are enough posts about people needing sleeve to bypass revisions due to GERD, that I'm not sure which path to take. I am planning to go with Dr. Illan in Mexico.

I do not have a history of significant heartburn or acid reflux. I sure don't want the surgery to start it! (I live with someone with terrible GERD, and it is awful!)

What do y'all think?

Ok, well there was a study done, and for those going into sleeve surgery without GERD, approx. 10% will develop it. Not so bad of odds I guess...

I had sleeve and I have GERD as a result. I take a pill for it. Not sure I would let that be a deciding factor; it's really controllable.

Minute chance of GERD v Malabsorption issues.

Risks on both sides.

I had GERD before the sleeve and now I don't have it at all. I guess I'm the exception because the sleeve cured my GERD and didn't give it to me.
