Help with protein powder choices?

Hey I am haven't had my surgery yet my final appt is Oct 27. Than I will find out the date. But in the mean time I am trying to figure out good high protein shakes I can drink. So I just purchased not just protein in the double duty chocolate flavor. I am just curious is this a good choice if not what can you recommend? Plz help ????????

  • @@Shauny85 Too many sugars as far as I'm concerned. Usually your surgeon's practice will give you a list of acceptable Protein powders/shakes. Premier Protein is a good prepared shake. I use Baria

I like GENEPRO unflavored. It's 30grams per tablespoon and only 57 calories. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  • I believe so. There should be others that don't contain lactose - but with less sugars than the one you chose.

Isopure liquid doesn't taste so bad but it is very CHALKY and kinda leaves your mouth dry. I'm telling you nectar is the best. chocolate tastes just like drinking chocolate milk. I'm 6 weeks post op and can eat anything now and I am still drinking 2 to 3 NECTAR shakes a day. Easy way to get my Protein, I mix 2 scoops with 8 ounces of Water and that gives me 48 grams of protein. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
