Cheese

My Doctor has told me to eat more cheese. I am still on the puree stage. What type of cheese were you able to eat at this stage? Thanks.

Yes to the Ricotta bake! I love it! I used the recipe from eggface and split it into a bunch of small portions. It's been one of my favorites since surgery 4 weeks ago.

I go on pureed foods today! So I'm very excited to try it and of course very nervous. Is there any thing else you have tried that you liked?

Hummus has been my absolute favorite during this phase. It is so flavorful and savory. The one I like is extra garlicky, so my husband is probably very sick of my stinky face now! now I'm really enjoying the pouches of tuna. Again, my favorite is the garlic herb one. Poor husband.

I love the Cracker Barrel 2% sharp cheddar sticks. 60 calories and 6-7g of protein per stick. I usually have one with breakfast and one with lunch

I mixed shredded cheddar with my scrambled eggs in the morning, kept the eggs moister and added protein

Another trick for adding protein at this stage is PB2. This is powdered peanut butter. They press the nuts to remove most of the fat then pulverize the nuts. Sprinkle on cottage cheese with sliced banana, mix into greek yogurt, add to a smoothie (chocolate Premier Protein shake with peanut butter...yum). Regular peanut butter could very easily break my calorie bank at this stage, so PB2 was a god send.
