Do they put in the request with your insurance the day of your first appointment

It depends on your weight/BMI and insurance. My insurance required 6 months of consecutive visits with a BMI 40 or higher as I had no other health issues. Some people go in their first visit and are able to submit.

My BMI is over 50 so I hopping when I talk to my doc about the surgery it'll be a quick process for since I get summer off I hope it's before August that it does interfere with work

If it's that high then they may not require much from you. You just have to find out if they require the visits, some do others don't.

I saw dr Fielding there

Oh wow!!! Is he pushing the band? If so it's really damn strange.

If you research the fielding, you will discover back several years ago they had a relationship with allergen who produces one of the bands. He was a fan of the band.. I went to Lennox hill and they were more straight up regarding what's the real deal with the band

Just to add I had an odd feeling you were having one of the NYU doctors when you said they were pushing lapband.
