  1. I was 236 but in that picture I really don't know how much I weight because that was like 5 months before I started going through the process of meeting the surgeon nut during the two week pre op diet lost 17 pounds . After two weeks after surgery I did get really sick with vomiting on and off the whole summer so I think that also had a lot to do with me losing so fast because I wasn't really able to eat like that ( which was the worst part of my experience ) but I was losing a lottt . Like some weeks I was losing 10 pounds in a week . But after I got better I would stall a little and then now I still continue to lose . Like since last week I've lost 8 pounds.
  2. Yes the vomiting stopped after they found out that my liver enzymes were elevated after my surgery . So when they took my gall bladder out I felt a lot better after the recovery .
  3. I had my surgery June 16th 2016 and I am down 72 pounds . I am extremely happy with my decision even though after surgery I experienced vomiting throughout the summer and ended up having my gall bladder taken out in August . I really feel like having the sleeve was the best decision I ever made .
  4. Totally disagree my mom had gastric bypass and craves sweet tea because her body craves sugar . And she's lost 120 pounds and only gained 5-10 pounds in the last 10 years and still continues to drink sweet tea . "Some people deserve to be fat" hmm I wonder how much you used to weight . Just like there are skinny people that enjoy food and crave certain things but no one says anything to them about how they eat and what they like . Your line was totally uncalled for . I'm pretty sure you probably were obese and I don't think you would like it if someone sat there and said damn they deserve to be fat. Your definitely one of those people on here that should be flagged for the comment you made .
  5. You literally made me feel a lot better . And I know it will probably get better writhing time since I am fairly new at this .
  6. And my surgeons office . All the 7 surgeons in there said with the sleeve you will not get dumping like with the bypass because their not removing and retorting the intestines
  7. I just had the gastric sleeve . And my mom had the bypass 10 years ago and from judging there's more intolerances after surgery with the bypass .
  8. First I'm talking about rude and nasty ones . We all have a journey and I'm the type of person that puts myself in someone's shoes before I sit there and make negative comments . The thread is not for that in my opinion . For example if someone on here is 300-400 pounds and they said they never realized how big they were before surgery it would be rude for me to comment and say "well how the hell do you not know " now that's rude and I have seen people on here be rude like that .
  9. Yes that does thank you . I know a lot of people eat it without the bun and before surgery I felt like the bun would just get in the way of the burger lol It's weird because before surgery I would also get full very easily with most food . I did think it was weird that my surgeons office sells food too and they said I could have chili I wouldn't think I would . I might just feel like this because at the moment I can't have what I want .
  10. I know I'm really early post op a week but all these thoughts keep running in my mind. Especially since it's summer and my family is currently throwing bbq's and I can't have like any of the stuff they're making . Like will there ever be a day where I can enjoy at least something I like . Like for example a burger . ( sidebar: not here for the negative comments so if you have them be warned in advance for my reaction ! )
  11. I had my surgery 5 days ago and they were all closed with a surgical glue stitch and today is day five and one just was peeling on its own and came off. Is that a bad thing that it peeled so soon. I haven't messed with it or anything before that
  12. That's basically all I've been doing they told me walk every two hours I walk every like 45 mins and in the middle of the night I wake up to walk and they let me take gas x strips . My mom went down this ten years ago and she said it will get better day by day
  13. I'm on a puréed diet day 2 so I am allowed to have puréed tuna scrambled eggs stuff like that. Everyone's surgeon is different in what they want you on .
  14. It hurts to drink and get my pills down even when they're smashed and powdered . I hardly have a desire to eat anything and it's hard getting the protein in . Anytime something goes down it hurts . It's like a gas bubble or something in my chest .
  15. Mine is tomorrow too I am so nervous
  16. I thought the same thing . Especially since everyone says I'm on the smaller spectrum of Bariatric patients . I didn't even have to do any type of dieting during my whole 6 months . I just find it weird that there are people that are 300 or 400 pounds and they do the two week liquid diet for their liver . I would just assume their livers would be bigger . It confuses me .
  17. Lucky I wish I could have had meat and veggies
  18. It gets better with not being hungry but you will probably just think about food because you can't have it . Ugh it sucks
  19. I didn't do day one because that's when I got my approval so I ate like a pig that day lmao. And I could only drink water , crystal light , diet Snapple ( which I love ) sugar free Popsicles sticks , this pudding powder ( taste awful) Greek yogurt ( AWFULLL) and low sodium broth and sugar free jello ( which taste like regular jello to me ) i have two days left and I've lost 15 pounds
  20. I don't think it's a good idea to exercise like that on the pre op because you're not actually eating . And after surgery you wait weeks to exercise when you are actually able to eat soft foods and have healed properly
  21. Mine is Wednesday too and I got my period last week and it just ended . I'm nervous and excited at the same time too. Like idk how I am going to feel after the procedure especially during the purée stage
  22. My surgery is on Wednesday . I can't wait . Only thing that sucks are these liquid diets . But one positive thing about this two week liquid diet was I lost 15 pounds ( after gaining from my last weigh in) glad to be down to 219 .
  23. I wanted the band at first too but my surgeon changed my mind when he told me more about the sleeve and less check up and no adjusting the band all the time and that you lose more with the sleeve
  24. Thank you all for your words of encouragement and advice it really helped
  25. My surge is on Wednesday and I'm really nervous and have all these random thought going through my head with how I'm going to feel after the surgery with the purée food and pain . I'm anxious but really nervous about everything else .
