Working out/exercise......

Recommended Posts

How much exercise were you able to do around week 2. Yesterday was 12 days post op and I hit the track to try to do 2-3 miles of walking. After 1 1/2 miles I couldn't walk anymore. My leg muscles hurt so bad!! Prior to surgery I could do 2 miles and now it just feels so tiring. Felt so bad that I couldn't push myself to at least the 2 mile mark.

How did you do 2 weeks in?

I was walking less than a mile. Be easy on yourself -- you came through major surgery and your body needs to conserve its energy to focus on healing. You'll get back to where you were eventually, I promise.

2 weeks in I couldn't walk long or far. I would literally walk every aisle in Walmart or Target and lean on the cart for support. Don't push yourself so soon.

I don't think I could have done that much at 2 weeks. I remember I could feel it in my stomach if I pushed it. Take it slow. The worst thing you could do is hurt yourself. Also make sure you get enough Water. I made the mistake of over doing it and end up in the ER from dehydration. Not fun. It will take 6-8 weeks to heal.

Good luck

After two weeks, I would be dead tired after 2 or 3 miles, but I used to walk and bike a lot before the surgery. Don't go too hard on yourself, it's already good that you walk everyday!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
