@@pamsmpk how is your dh about it now? My husband is not at all impressed but I'm doing it anyway. I'm 43 and have been thinking about it for 10 years. I have 2 boys ages 17 and 11 N a daughter who will be 15 next month. I'm so anxious to get the surgery done and get on with my life.

Actually, he is very supportive, especially after he went to the seminar with me!

@@pegrae Where in Montana do you live??

I worked in GNP for 3 summers, then one winter in Whitefish--love, love, love Montana! I was just talking to friends this weekend that I want to plan a trip to Glacier :)

I'm in Billings..we could meet. Wouldn't that be fun.

I went to the seminar on 3/21/16 and have my first appointment with the surgeon on 3/29/16 then my first of 6 appointments with my pcp on the 30th. I'm pumped!

@@pegrae that would definitely be fun!! With (hopefully) having this surgery I won't be trekking to Montana this year...but would love to next year :)

Just returned from my psych consult--very odd Dr, but it's over & one more step on my journey is done!! Surgery consult is April 5th..and of course I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas!!

At the consult he said "well, you're a little overweight, but not obese. I've seen a lot worse!" WTH? And those MMPI questions were interesting.

12 days until I meet the surgeon, nutritionist, etc....12 days until the bulk of my questions get answered...12 days until this journey really begins!!

So glad that it moves so quickly for you guys.... Mine will be anywhere from 6 months to a year from when I have my orientation on April 18th. I'm trying to be patient but it's not really working for me lol.

On another note though- I called the bariatric centre to see if I could get in any sooner for my orientation, and they said there's nothing until June now- so glad mine is April.

@@daizymom why so long?? Insurance requirements? Glad you have an April orientation--at least you know you're starting the process. Guess I shouldn't complain about waiting if your process is going to take 6 mo to a year!

I'm in Ontario and while I do love our health care , wait times can be a big drawback. I'd be so happy if mine was in 6 months but most people do have to wait a year or even longer. On the upside the surgery is 100 percent covered. Some other provinces have a waiting period of 2-3 years. Ontario is definitely one of the better ones.

Ahhh, I wondered if you were in the US after I posted. I've heard the waits are bad. On the plus side, I have to pay $6600 out of pocket for what my insurance doesn't cover. Where in Ontario are you? ? I'm in Northern Michigan.
