    Milk of magnesia

I have the mint flavor and it tastes like mint but then is exactly like I chewed on a stick of chalk. That's the norm that I know of unless you're talking about another "flavor". Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'm 2 weeks out and am allowed to have caffeine but for any amount of caffeine i consume, I have to have the same amount of non-caffeinated beverage to stay hydrated Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Bananas are NOT a low carb food

Thanks for posting this, the list is super helpful. I was told by my nut to stay away from bananas because of the sugar even if it is natural, I have to stay below 15g and 14 is definitely pushing it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. My surgeon said three but I have a desk job and my follow up is Tuesday. I'm letting him know I need a little more time only because it hurts to sit up for so long and I'm stuck at a desk, on the phone all day. I've seen some people that take 2 weeks and feel fine, and some that take 6-8. It will really depend on how you feel or what your job entails. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Well, I finally have everything scheduled. I have to be at the hospital at 11:20 on 8/29, surgery is at 1:20. I'm super excited and super nervous. I've done well on the preop diet so far but could anyone give me some suggestions about food for the liquid and puréed stage? I'm going to shop some tomorrow and just a need some ideas. Got my date and time...but

Thank you!! I'll be sure to stock up on jello. I have tons of broth and the oatmeal sounds so good. I can't wait until regular foods again lol. I'd do just about anything for a piece of baked chicken. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  10. I am so excited! I know I posted previously about a tentative date of 8/31 but my insurance called yesterday to let me know that they had an approved auth for 8/29 and then the surgeons PA called today to confirm that the 29th is a good date and to set up pre-op which is 8/11. In less than a month, I will finally be on the losers bench

  12. So the past 5 months have creeped by and flew by all at the same time. I've been poked and prodded due to my endo thinking I had Cushing's, then my first cardiologist appointment came back with an abnormal ekg only to find out it was the nurses error. I just went today for an appointment with my surgeon and saw another cardiologist in Pittsburgh that did all my testing and said my only issue is my weight but everything came back perfect. The surgeon scheduled me for August 31st tentatively, pending the approval of my insurance after my 6th weight check on August 1st. I am beyond excited and can't wait to start this journey. I want to be on the losers bench with all of you winners . Just a few things I'm looking forward to: Riding on the back of my hubby's Harley. (I could now, but I just don't feel right) Fitting on roller coasters. Zip lining. Tying my shoes straight. Feeling comfortable in my own skin. Walking for long distances. (When we go to Ohio state games, I can barely make it to the stadium without being in tears because of leg pain) Eating to live instead of living to eat. Sorry for such a long post, I'm just so excited to be so close. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I got my tentative date!

That's awesome. I'll have to check it out. I drink a ton of water at work but it's like once I get home, I'm done and done want it anymore. I told the guys at GNC that Isopure tasted like vomit to me and they recommended the vanilla isopure power soooooo I'm going to give that a shot and hope it's better than the premixed. 23. I have seen quite a few policies that have $500-$1500 co pays for bariatric surgery. I don't have a copay but I have a $1600 deductible for the year. I ended up starting the process in March so I know I can have the surgery this year and my deductible should be met by the time I have it. It really depends on where your coworkers were at in the year or even if they have the same policy. I know some employers offer a low and high deductible option.
