This is a good question to ask your surgeon and Doctor who prescribed your meds. I took all of my meds starting the day after surgery without a problem.

I agree with inner surfer girl. I had to crush mine for a couple of weeks.

I was allowed any medication smaller than an M&M right after surgery, but I know others who had to crush theirs or open the capsules.

Every surgeon has their own guidelines. I was allowed tiny pills (like my birth control pill and the anti-nausea medication they had me on) immediately post op. I was allowed my larger pills, like my multivitamin, calcium, etc. at 7 days post-op. I was told to try to avoid time release medications forever.

I've been taking my tiny pills. But I'm now off of everything but depression meds and Vitamins as per doc orders.
