January Surgery Dates!

Who's getting their surgery in January? I just got my insurance approval today, and I meet with my surgeon Wednesday the 16th of Dec. The scheduler said that I will most likely get my surgery on the 5th of january because he only has one scheduled on the 5th, and he is out of the office until my appointment! I am beyond excited!

I start my pre-op diet TOMORROW! Jan 13th surgery date, how have you all been finding the pre-op diet if you have started?

Mine has been rough. A Protein shake for 2 meals and then 4 ounces of protein and a half cup of green vegetables for the third meal. No starches . Two servings of broth, sugar free popsicles, and sugar free Jello as needed to help with hunger which don't help all that much.

However, this time next week I'll be post-op. Trying my best to hang in there

The Facebook group still shows up as closed rather than secret. But...my surgery date is now set for February :-(

Oh no! What happened??

I start my pre-op diet TOMORROW! Jan 13th surgery date, how have you all been finding the pre-op diet if you have started?

I'm on day 7 (of 14) of a clear liquid pre-op diet. I can have 3-4 Protein shakes a day and Clear liquids (broth, sugar free Jello, non-caffeinated tea). In all honesty, it really hasn't been bad. I haven't had any bad days -- not even Christmas. I've discovered that warm liquids are my best friend!

@@dayciavu Well done on keeping up with it. Mine is pretty much the same gives me a set of what I can't eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snacks, very low carbs. A liquid diet would be very extreme! I would find it very hard, but excited for a better lifestyle. Officially starting tomorrow I think the first few days may be easiest as I have done various crash diets but cannot guarantee anything.

I don't have a Pre op diet , just the day before is liquids. I wonder why it's different ? January 11th

My surgeon is the same...only liquids the day prior to surgery.

@ninamarie @ that's different maybe it depends on weight, because I do know some people I have met are on a pre-op diet for up to 4 WEEKS! It's meant to shrink the liver but lucky you for only having to drink liquids the day before

@@mizzmegan official surgery twins! Are you having to do a pre-op diet?

Mine in January 4th

Jan 18th! I sent my request to join the FB group. Hope all goes well for everyone.
