My surgeon says that it's safe to take birth control pills before surgery, he claim he has some new study that show that it's not harmful, but his office does have a protocol to stop the pills.... so I'm not sure what to do about it.... I prefer taking it... but I'm scared. .. of its Really safe... ? Anybody has any experience taking it.... please comment

As long as you don't smoke you should be perfectly fine. I'm on Nuvaring while not a pill, is still same hormones. Had no issues at all. You definitely don't want to risk pregnancy until after you are at a stable healthy weight.

I take my pill everyday. I haven't had any problems.

I'm taking crystal and my surgery is Nov 24 next week..... I don't smoke. ..

You will be fine, trust your doc. Enjoy the transformation.

I just switched to Nuva ring so that I'm sure to still be covered even if pill swallowing is a problem.

I was asked to stop them because some pills carry an increased risk of blood clots. My pills give me high blood pressure so it was best for me to stop them for the time being anyway even without the chance of blood clots.

I was told to stop a month before surgery since it can cause blood clots. Then like 2 weeks after or so, I can start again

I am on Jolessa and had no issues taking my pills before and after surgery. My doctor didn't say anything about it being unsafe.
