Ii was able to do mild sauce at six weeks. I tried jalapeno poppers at six months and was miserable for a couple of days. No more for me.

I started adding sriracha to my chicken broth within a couple of days of surgery and never looked back. It never gave me any problems. That said, I have been eating very spicy food my entire life and it never gave me any trouble before surgery either.

I join the others in enjoying spicy foods, salsa, and hot sauce. I have eaten them since about 4 weeks out. I was spicing up broths/soups after the first week. I never had an issue, but I also take an acid blocker daily.

I actually seem to have a greater tolerance for spicy food now than I did before surgery for some reason. I got a spicy tofu dish at a Chinese restaurant awhile back (I think I was about 6 weeks out from surgery), and when my husband tried a bite, he couldn't believe I was able to eat it... but it didn't seem that spicy to me!

Another siracha eater here. I love all things spicy. I think people are warned against it because of concerns with acid. It was never an issue for me.

My doctor said it was fine a few weeks out
