Regrets?

Hi

I was sleeved 26 August and to tell you the truth I feel like -------. I am at a lost for words. I am tired, I mean down right exhausted from doing very little. I can't say honestly that I regret because of the lack of food etc but I think it's the feeling sick part that I don't like so much.

I am also staying with a friend who is pushing me to ... Oh walk the dog, you have to get up and do bla bla bla and the truth is bedside taking a shower in the mornings, a short walk to and from the park, reading and talking to a few family members by phone there is very little else that I have the energy to do.

She also comes to the room and pulls the curtains, sing, and opens the windows so wide even while I am still sleeping. Here contemplating a hotel for the next three weeks before I return to my job, which is in another country.

It's different for everyone. A fifty-five year old woman in my facebook support group was up and bouncing around two days after surgery, sleeping comfortably on her side, and back at work in two weeks. Meanwhile, I'm half her age, confined to bed in total misery, no exercise nearly two months out, still can't sleep on my stomach or sleep very long, and hell, I had to call 911 when I was three days out of surgery because I fell and couldn't get up!

Don't confuse pain, misery, and tough times for regret. They suck, and they suck worse when the people around you are cheerful and full of "advice." But that doesn't mean you've made the wrong choice. As the pounds melt away, this period will become smaller and smaller in your mind.

Wow Del! Hope you're feeling better.

I think we all have moments where we stop and think "what have I done" Personally there have been many moments especially when a commercial for a big juicy hamburger comes on that I think that. But I know it will get better

I totally understand where you are coming from. I had band to sleeve on August 24 then ended up back in surgery on August 26 for diaphragm slippage, etc. I went back to work on August 31 to an office setting. It has been hard. No energy. Weak. Head hunger. But every once in awhile I feel like me again. So I'm keeping my head up and hopes high. Do what you can do when you can and rest the rest of the time. Every day seems better.
