When to take laxatives?

When do you feel the need to take your laxatives? I haven't gone in 4 days and am dreading any pain if I don't go soon. When is the point to take them for WLS patients?

have u tried miralax? I add it daily to my protein shake or coffee. the iron supplement made me miserable. some add fiber as well. ask ur nut :)

some add fiber to their food and I add Miralax to my protein drink. iron supplement wasn't my friend. ask your NUT.

I use miralax or MOM at least a couple of times a week to stay "normal". I had some problems after my TT/panni where I didn't and I had a blockage and that was the WORST thing ever, so now I do anything to stay "normal" :-) I don't get nearly enough fiber in my diet as a WLS patient on the high protein/low carb diet (I'm sure others are better at it than I am), so they have been my life-saver. Don't let it go too long!

Don't wait too long! I would say after the 5th day if you're not going....
