I was approved!

After one denial my primary care doctor sent in an appeal! I was approved today. Surgery will hopefully be scheduled for the beginning of August. Any tips would be very helpful :)

Nice!!!

Congrats. It's a great feeling when you finally get that approval

Great, so happy your appeal was approved.

start hydrating as much as possible and if you can get on path to prepping for the pre-op diet if needed. some doctors require a certain amount of weight loss. some insurances will deny if you lose too much - check into that :D

Congrats! I got approved after medical review, and it feels great!

If you don't mind my asking, what was the reason for being originally denied?

  • Author

I was denied because I had been on a medically supervised liquid diet for 6 months and lost 50 lbs. however when I went off of the diet the weight quickly came right back. The reasoning for denial was "failure to comply with previous weight loss." Ridiculous. I have a bmi of 44 also
