Muscle swelling

Hi I was sleeved June 2 so 4 day post op, and where they cut my abdominal muscle to remove the stomach is extremely swollen. It looks like a softball on my belly, and extremely painful. Is this normal? Anything I can do??

Call your doctor. It sounds like a hernia to me. Hopefully one of the nurses on the forum can steer you in the right direction. Since it hurts, I personally would go the the ER if I can't get a callback from my doctor. Good luck. I hope you can get your mystery lump figured out and treated.

Can you take a picture of it? It doesn't sound quite right...is it hot to touch or draining anything?

No redness, nor is it hot to the touch and it's not draining anything. Spoke with my drs office they recommended icing it and made an appt for me on Monday
