@@carebear42, isn't is crazy how it consumes your life? A friend of mine had bypass back in February and I do not remember her talking about it as much as I think about it, so sometimes wonder if it'

Is everyone here required to do a liquid diet? My doctor is not requiring it for some reason.

June 15th for me? Good luck everyone ????

Just checking in all everyone to see how you all are doing? I am doing great! 19 days after surgery on the puréed diet. I lost 25 pounds, sleeping better, able to walk more easily. Foods I am able to eat comfortably are milk, yogurt, chicken, cottage cheese and of course protein shakes. Eggs don't taste so good yet. Hope everyone is doing well.????

I'm doing ok still trying to get used to eatng slower. I've worked in construction most of my life and only get a short time to eat so it's so hard to retrian my brain when you're used to eating in a short time frame. Waaah!, Waaah! (My weekly whine) Brian

Im sleeping better. Getting used to "eating". The G.I. bug went through my house and that was pretty rough but my incisions are doing well. I'm rested in the morning. I look forward to being able to lift and pick up heavy stuff etc.... I can tell it will be a little bit still.. . 3 week check up tomorrow....

now 22 days post op, down 30 lbs, no longer snoring which is great, wearing clothes from 4 years ago. becoming more energetic by the day, but still need to try and get more in protein; i haven't yet found a good supplemental source (i live in the eu), but i do eat a protein for each meal. i have my first check up this afternoon. it's good to read we're all doing well!

is losing a pound a day slow losing?

I had a bypass revision on the 9th and did well. I was back to work on the 17th. But then develop a serious viral infection that sent me back to the hospital for 5 days. In the hospital longer with a silly virus than major obdominal surgery. Now my resting heart rate is in the low 40's but this will pass. I'm down 22 pounds since surgery!!!!!

Hey everyone, surgery date was June 5th. Tolerating everything very well. Back at work laughing at people who are shocked at my loss but don't know how, whispers, gossiping, its hilarious! Any how, taking to day by day. Loss 25 pounds & couldn't be happier!!! Continued happiness to everyone.

I'm a slow looser too! Only down 22 pounds since surgery on the 2nd of June.

Minor step back I tried white fish yesterday I guess ate to much or to fast or something an hour later throwing up ???? when back to just shake and fluids last night. Woke up this morning only had water got sick again. Ugh a few hours later able to keep yogurt down. Just not feeling well today.

@@Bdevine, I hope you feel better & hopefully you Ferrell better & it passes. The same thing happened to me with tilapia but it was prob too soon. Now, its no prob have eaten it several more times. Our new tummy's are weird. Great work so far, you are a champ!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. I had my bypass June 9th and am down 30 pounds. Can tolerate cottage cheese, yogurt and Soup right now.

Last Tuesday I developed a sharp pain in my left should when I would breath in. As the day went on I also developed the pain in my left side, also when I breathed in. By about 8 that night I went to Urgent Care who sent me to the ER. Long story short is they did a cat scan and discovered there was an abscess on my pouch, so I have been in the hospital ever since. I have been on antibiotics, had another swallow test today to very there was a leak and that came back positive. Doc wants me here a couple more days, will move to stag 3 tomorrow and possibly be released on Sunday. He said he does not see this very often and it is typically caused by overeating. I had been on stage 4 for about a week and could barely eat a yogurt and 1/4C cottage cheese per day, so I did not cheat and have not touched anything not on the stage 4 list! Benefit, I get another week off work :-)
