Need some female advice please

I was sleeved on Feb 2nd of this year, Two days after my surgery, I started having menstural bleeding, and I have bled every day since. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? I called my ob-gyn and he said that if I could have a uterine biopsy and ultrasound done but the cost is almost $1000 and I dont have insurance. Id hate to pay all that money only to find out it is common among sleevers. I weighed 205 going in and weigh 160 now.

Any advice would be appreciated

No, that's not normal. You really should see a doctor.

I did for the first two weeks then it went away but then again i have a Mirena And my ob-gyn said it was ok after surgery ... Still talk to a doctor if u can every female body is different.

I too had the Mirena and was surprised when I bled for the first few weeks. It was light, but I usually didn't get a period. That being said, this January (1 yr. post-sleeve) I started bleeding again and found out I had a large fibroid that led to a hysterectomy. Most ob/gyn's will tell you if you are bleeding in a way that is abnormal for you, you should get it checked out because it is a sign of uterine or ovarian cancer. Luckily for me it was neither. I know it is very expensive, but peace of mind and assurance that you are healthy is very important!

You should report any type of bleeding to your doctor and take their recommendation..whether your bariatric surgeon or your obgyn.. Bleeding is serious.

I was just sleeved on April 15th and 4 days later, I started a period. I have Mirena IUD and haven't had a period in four years. I'm glad you posted this because the feedback has helped me too. My Dr. Said not to worry.
