  1. I am down 60 pounds as of today. Some days I eat more than others. Some days I have to remind myself to eat. Very strange but I make sure to get my Vitamins and eat Protein first. Lots of Water too.

When did people notice your weight loss?

When I hit about 45 pounds. All of a sudden, everyone started noticing.

    Finally one year out

You look fabulous. I am 5 months out and I cannot wait to see how I look at one year. Kudos to you!
  4. Before surgery, I would have told you that I just liked the "taste" of food and that's why I was overweight. I am 4.5 months out and I can tell you that was only half of the story. I also liked the quantity of food that I ate. Once I was back on regular food at 6 weeks, I was excited to be able to go out to eat again. After a couple of times going out, I found myself saying "oh what the hell. I might as well not eat at all because I can only handle a couple of bites anyways." Now if I really only liked the "taste" of food, then eating out would have still been enjoyable. What I really missed was being able to sit around with friends for an hour and gorge on food. I never realized that until after the surgery which seems so dang obvious now. I have now gotten used to only being able to eat a little bit and it's not a problem for me anymore. I can enjoy going out to eat and not feel bummed out about it. The head game after surgery was much harder than the physical part of it. I went to a wedding a couple of weekends ago and they had an amazing chef cater the food. He did about 15 different appetizer type dishes and I was bummed that I could only have one bite of about 5-6 of them. What I wasn't bummed about was being 50 pounds lighter and not hiding when everyone pulled their cameras out. It is absolutely worth it but it IS an adjustment for sure. I feel better because I am eating food that is good for me and also because I am a couple of sizes smaller now. As for alcohol, I can take about 2 sips of beer and it makes me feel way too full. I can drink a small amount of wine but too much makes me feel sick. I think it's the sugar. Also, if I finish an entire glass of wine, I am seriously blitzed. It doesn't last long but I am a super cheap date now. Hopefully that answers some of your questions. Best of luck to you.

Work in progress, but already a success

You are amazing! I had surgery on 4/15/15 and I am down 52 pounds as of today. It has been slow but so worth it. You are a success for sure.

grazing, overeating and weight gain :(

I don't have great advice about recipes, meal plans etc. because I kind of just go with the flow. I had my surgery on April 15, 2015 so I am exactly 15 weeks out today and am down 46 pounds. My urge to snack and graze has just come back within the last couple of weeks so I understand what you are fighting. It was easy at first because I didn't feel like eating but now I certainly have that part back. What has helped me so much is that I track everything I eat throughout the day on myfitnesspal.com. It allows me to track my Protein intake and I also watch the carbs and try to keep them below 40g. My problem time is after work and before I go to bed. Since I track my calories religiously, I know when I head home from work exactly where I am at and what I have left to work with for the rest of the evening. I hope that helps. Just know that so many of us know exactly where you are right now and how you feel. You can do it and you should be very, very proud of how far you have come. You have accomplished a lot.

    MY SURGERY IS TOMORROW!

Don't let yourself get too nervous. It is over before you know it and after the first couple of days, you will continue to feel better every day. I am almost 6 weeks post op and I have been amazed how easy my recovery has been. My two foot surgeries were way, way worse. Good luck and congratulations.

4 weeks post op and stalled

I had surgery on 4/15 and lost 10 the first week, 5 the second, 2 the third and ZERO last week. I know that a lot of people stall around this point so I am not letting it get to me. Or at least trying not to! I only weigh in once/week and am hoping the scale moves even one pound next week. I know I am doing everything right and I'm sure you are too so we just have to be patient. It's hard because I would like to see ridiculously huge numbers every week.

    Lying to feel better?!?

I love when people post progress pictures. It has helped so much to motivate me as I travel along this road. When I see people who have been successful (no matter what they are wearing), I am genuinely thrilled for them. I have way too many things I need to focus my attention on in my own life to spend a second focusing on others and what they should and should not be wearing. I never have nor will I ever wear revealing clothes because that's just not who I am. But I secretly envy the people who give zero craps about what anyone else thinks and are bold enough to be daring and wear what they want. Wow, first negative, and truly judgmental post I have seen on this otherwise very positive and inspiring website. Keep posting those pictures and I will keep telling you that "You look amazing" because you do.

    Need some female advice please

I was just sleeved on April 15th and 4 days later, I started a period. I have Mirena IUD and haven't had a period in four years. I'm glad you posted this because the feedback has helped me too. My Dr. Said not to worry.

    Recovering?

I am six days post op today. Taking a couple of walks a day and am getting about 90 ounces of fluid in per day. My stomach did not like the chewable vitamin so I am going to ask my Dr. at my appointment tomorrow for another vitamin suggestion.

    Second stage...

I am so glad to hear of your success. I am about 9 weeks out from having surgery and sometimes it seems like it is going to take forever to get there and other times I am grateful that I have some time to wrap my head around all of the changes that are coming. I know that once I get to my healthy weight, I will most likely need some work done of my tummy and my breasts. I would love to correspond and follow your journey and also would love to have someone to chat with that has already been through this process. I am taking 3 week off of work after my surgery and am hoping that is enough. I hear that people are very tired afterwards. I am thinking that with your surgery, you should bounce back pretty quickly considering the type of physical shape you are in. Congrats on your hard work. Jaycee
