Buddies (Gastric Bypass)

Hello Fellow Journey Members,

My surgery date was 22nd Of March 2015 {Gastric Bypass} so I'm in my early days so far. Just pondering if any of you members whom have had surgery around my surgery date would be open in sharing with me their experiences so far.

3/25 here, also had GB. So far so good. Still quiet sore in places but not pain pill worthy. How are you doing?

Hello SKC27,

I'm doing really well no problems at all, waiting though for all my wounds to heal. I drink has fast has I like and take tables instead of chewable vitamins and my stomach has no problems. My only issue is that I'm not getting enough protien and I think I should start drink more water. Hope you have a glorious day. Prada

I wish I was off of my meds. I'm having issues on that one side and I've noticed if I stand for a few minutes it gets intense. Are you on your full liquid diet yet?

Hi SCK72,

Yes I'm on full liquid diet, I have to inform you that it will be lovely when I'll beable to chew onceagain. Liquid meals most certainly don't do it for me. Lol..Lol..

My date was March 23. Good to hear you are doing good. My only problem is I am anxious for my drain to be removed on Friday. I am also looking for more variety in my full liquid diet. I'm off all my diabetes meds which thrills me.

I'm on full liquids till the 11th then I can have puree.

Right now I am taking two flints tone chewables daily. Was it painful having the drain taken out?

I got gastric bypass on March 23rd currently on full liquid diet. But, I'm so hungry! I don't know what to do?!

Had surgery on March 27! On pureed at the moment, feeling better each day!

Good Afternoon DreMar,

So your surgery is just one day after mine. I'm not at all hungry which I think has alot to do with my water intake. I hope your hunger passes. Have a beautiful day. Prada.

Thanks Prada. That gives me courage. My nutritionist told us to take half of a pain pill before the appt. since I haven't had pain meds since day one it concerned me

I had my surgery on April 23rd at 7:30am. Of course my friend came on the 22nd which sucked since you wear a tampon. I was out of surgery around 1pm. I have been in ICU since Thursday afternoon. My doctor said I will be in here until Monday, Tuesday the latest. Monday, he is going to do the stomach test to see if everything is working properly. I won't have anything to drink or eat until Monday.

Prepost weight 274

14 days of liquid diet, cheated twice

Day of surgery 258.4

I am not sure how much I weigh now and my body is swollen from the gas that they fill your tummy before surgery and the fluids that are going into me 24/7.
