  1. Ugh lol. I've lost 80lbs and starting to look sick. I'm 5'9 and was 243. Hoping the weight stops coming off soon lol. I'm exhausted all the time. Not getting my protein like I should. Things still get stuck and I'm never hungry. How are you?
  2. I'm 8 months out and not getting the protein I need. I'm maybe 20 grams and believe me, I feel horrible most days and my hair is falling out. Thank God for thick hair. I HATE protein shakes and the meal bars aren't for me either. I crave regular food. Any ideas of small meals that are packed with protein. I started at 243 and I'm down to 156. I look sick and hope the weight stops coming off soon. This is all my fault as I don't exercise and eat like I should. Any advice for meals would be appreciated. BTW I would do this again if I had too, I just need to learn the proper way to eat.
  3. It's mental, I went thru the exact same thing. I'm 6 months post op now and I could careless about eating. Those cravings will get better, try hard to stick to the plan (it's not easy) but you will eventually lose those cravings. It's amazing how I use to obsess about food and plan my life around it to not caring at all lol. Hang in there.
  4. I'm 6 months post op and not sure what is going on. I am experiencing major exhaustion after I eat. It doesn't matter what I eat, fruits, veggies, chips, doesn't matter. I HAVE to take a short nap. This started a few weeks ago and it seems to be getting worse. My desire to eat is getting worse too. I force myself to eat but things that I enjoyed even a few weeks ago taste bad. I literally am getting to the point to where I'm going all day without eating. It's either crash or not eat. I'm worried that it's becoming a major issue. Anyone else have this? I'm losing weight and things have been great until now. Please help
  5. The best thing ever was my son flooding my bathroom including my scale. It's gone and I have yet to replace it. Stay off the scale!!! I was obsessed with how much I was losing until that day. I'm 6 months post op, 5'9 started at 243 and down to 175. I went from a size 20+ to a size 12. IT WILL COME OFF. The day I lost my scale was the day I said you know what I'm in no hurry. The best is yet to come. You had the surgery so now let it happen. Your not going to gain weight, you will lose it. It will happen. I was wearing a size 18 that day and when I went shopping I was in a 12. It was a WONDERFUL feeling. One day at a time
  6. I had a bypass and I have lots of reflux on omeprazole + carafate I can't eat much Me too!!! I'm only on omperazole and food always seems to get stuck no matter how much I chew or the size of bite. I'm 30 lbs down 6 weeks post op but not able to eat much at all
  7. I'm doing great! Almost 30 lbs down. I'm never hungry lol. I'm still trying to get all protein and fluids. Getting there slowly
  8. Sugar free chocolate jello made with 1% milk and a scoop of the sugar free cool whip mixed in = heaven!
  9. I'm on bcbs federal tx and it took 3 days. I called the insurance daily and they actually told me I was approved. I immediately called my dr and they called to confirm and things went super fast from there. They mail their decision so we avoided the wait by me calling. I'm 11 days post op now.
  10. Isn't it amazing how much we appreciate the little things right now LOL. I use to hate eggs and I was all giddy over my omelet this morning! Shrimp sounds amazing, I will have to try it soon. I'm not going to lie, I did take 1 teeny tiny piece of my sons brownie and it was delicious. Just enough to taste and say I'm good
  11. I went to my check up on Wednesday and he told me that I could slowly introduce soft food SLOWLY. I had the refried beans and cheese side from taco bell (he mentioned it and so glad lol), this morning I had an omlet with egg beaters, some low fat cheese, small pieces of lean deli meat and chunky salsa DELICIOUS & tonight I'm going to try the canned chicken in light mayo with a boiled egg.
  12. I hate to say it but it's good to know I'm not alone I'm ready to feel human again. Tomorrow my hubby is going to get me out for a mall trip lol, that should do the trick
  13. Am I the only one that is still dragging? I feel fine, I'm able to keep everything down & can sleep on both sides. I just don't feel like getting dressed and getting out. Is this common or is this something I'm going to have to make myself do?
  14. I'm experiencing hot flashes more so now than before mainly at night in my sleep and occasionally during the day. I'm guessing mine is my hormones, I had a complete hysterectomy a year ago and finally got straight with the flashes. I'm wondering if the weight and diet change is throwing them off again.
  15. I wish I was off of my meds. I'm having issues on that one side and I've noticed if I stand for a few minutes it gets intense. Are you on your full liquid diet yet?
  16. I am wondering the same thing...I want mushy beans! I'm 7 days post op and have been on clear liquids amd now full liquids. I'm keeping everything down, even tried yogurt. I feel in ready for more but my paperwork says 1 week of full liquids. I'm tired of liquids lol #thestruggleisreal
  17. I have a question, I'm 1 week post op and I'm keeping everything down ok. I've had yogurt and was good, all soups good and was wondering if mashed bake beans would be ok or refried beans this soon? I'm not wanting a steak or anything crazy lol just curious if anyone has had them this soon and if they were ok.
  18. Thank goodness my dr has pureed/soft foods! Ohhhh I CAN NOT WAIT
  19. Ohhhh I can't wait until April 8th..I'm craving some pureed food! Lol
  20. Yes, my medication only last 2-3 hours and it's back when standing. I can take short like maybe 5 minute walks and it starts hurting again.
  21. The pain is pretty intense standing up. I thought the nurses were crazy asking me to walk the same day. I got in trouble for not getting up enough but thankfully I went home the next day lol. I'm not exhausted but tired of water and forget protein. I'm not going to lie, today my family was having hamburgers and I took a tiny piece, chewed it up and spit out just for the taste lol. Didn't help much lol. We've got this...I'm losing 1.4ish daily so far so that gives me hope. Just took pain meds and back to bed. I've been sitting in the recliner today and walking around my house some. Just taking it easy.
  22. I'm 4 days post of with the bypass. I'm going to be honest, IT'S ROUGH. The day of surgery I felt like I was going to die with gas pains. I've had 3 c sections and hysterectomy and nothing compares. HOWEVER, days 3 & 4 are better. Day 2 was a little better but day 3 I was able to watch my little guy play baseball. It's worth it, just please understand it's rough at first lol. I was reading things that sugar coated it and wasn't expecting the day of. Plus side is I was medicated and slept a lot while in hospital. I'm ready for some regular food that's for sure lol
  23. Jeannbe1 what did they say? I'm 4 days post op and today is worse. Mine doesn't radiate to my back but hurts like crazy when I stand up.
  24. I had gastric bypass on 3/25. I have 1 incision on my left side that hurts severely when I stand up. I was able to ease the pain yesterday with my pain meds but today it literally takes my breath away. Is this normal? I'm fine when laying down or reclined. I need to move around but it's unbearable.
  25. Oh I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one lol. Mine are getting better thank goodness. I'm doing pretty well, just hurts in one section of my tummy when I stand or sit up straight. I'm ready for soft foods that's for sure! I'm losing about 1.4 pounds a day so I'm stoked!
