March 30, 201511 yr Anyone else? Had surgery on the 25th and I'm counting down the days until April 16th. I'm off work until April 6th, and thankfully have a lot of work related trainings starting next week so that will keep my mind occupied.
March 30, 201511 yr Had surgery the 25th also...April 11 I get to move to pureed....never thought I'd be excited about pureed foods...lol. My follow up it the 17th. Hoping to go back to work the 20th.
March 31, 201511 yr I'm nervous about the puréed stage. I have huge issues with texture and while I had hoped it may resolve its self somewhat over the month of liquid only it doesn't seem to have made much difference. I fear I'll be living off yogurts and cottage cheese for protein before I progress to the soft food stage. Good luck to us!
March 31, 201511 yr I'm a very visual eater I have never tried cottage cheese cause I can't stand the way it looks....lol Not sure I will be able to get over that....
March 31, 201511 yr I know exactly what you mean Skc72! I wish I could stomach beans but just looking at them makes me want to gag and that makes these incision hurt like nobody's business!
March 31, 201511 yr Author Any idea if we can have a whole Popsicle or do we have to break it up into 1 oz every 15 mins?
March 31, 201511 yr @@kamcar616 I break mine up I can't tolerate more than an ounce at a time. Getting all my fluids in has been super hard.
March 31, 201511 yr Author Getting my liquids has been hard because I haven't been awake the full 16 hours or so but I have no problems drinking. I'm still sipping and today my Dr said I can sip freely now instead of an oz every 15 mins, but I'm scared I'm going to stretch my pouch. Is that possible from liquids? How long do liquids stay in?
March 31, 201511 yr Oh I'm awake all day...2nd day no naps. I just feel full all the time. The thought of drinking anything makes me cringe sometimes. Don't think the liquids stay around long. I potty every 30 mins I think. I gained 19lbs of water weight and have lost 17 of it so far.
March 31, 201511 yr Author I didn't gain any weight in hospital. 6 days out and I've lost 8 lbs. I don't feel hungry but I just know I need to get in my fluids and an oz every 15 mins has been hard more so because I feel thirsty (probably dehydration) after but didn't think I should drink more
