Buddies (Gastric Bypass)

Hello Fellow Journey Members,

My surgery date was 22nd Of March 2015 {Gastric Bypass} so I'm in my early days so far. Just pondering if any of you members whom have had surgery around my surgery date would be open in sharing with me their experiences so far.

Checking in to see how everyone is doing....little over a month out. Down 20 lbs. Still sore but back to work. Soft foods are working out great and meeting my protein goals but not my fluids :-( working on that. Can't wait to start weight training in 2 weeks!!

I had Gastric bypass on Thursday April 23rd. My doctor insist on me staying here until Monday or Tuesday. I still have my drain, I am on airflow oxygen, nothing to eat or drink since the Wednesday before surgery. The doctor wants to do the liquid test on Monday to see if my new stomach will function properly. I have not been hungry, but I am in so much pain and I am on pain meds every 4 hours. When does it goes away? This pain is worst than a c-section and I am starting to regret the surgery.

@@tanya131313 so sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time. Are you up walking? The gas pains were the worst and the only thing to help is walking. I was off pain meds by day 4. And I thought I was dying the first 2 days. But it gets better quick. I hope it gets better for you soon.

I had surgery March 30th. At first wasn't sure I made the right choice but after about 7days started feeling good and have lost weight. I like others am having difficulty getting enough protein and I am still on chewable vitamins Yuck!!
