Hello! has anybody heard of Long term vsg?? They have the gastric sleeve surgery for $2999. It just sounds too good to be true. Please let me know!

Hi!! So I found out about Dr M today and will call tomorrow morning to get info. Did you have to pay all of the money up front? Or part when you get there? Did you stay 2 nights at a hotel?

You just have to put down a $300 deposit which is refundable until 1 week before the surgery. You pay the balance when you get there. My sister and I are flying in on the same day as the surgery and flying home 2 days later. The first night we'll stay at the surgical clinic and the second night will be at a recovery house!

At the surgery center you may share a room with one other patient but there is a curtain between the beds. At the recovery house you will have your own room, which is very nice. It has a bed, recliner, small desk and chair, television, and great air conditioning- I made my room nice and cool and slept great.

So far waiting for my surgery, they took blood, I peed in a cup, I have my IV. The clinic is small but very efficient. Everyone is so nice.

So they told me the pre op diet is just lose carb high protein. Did anyone have to do liquids? Laxitives? Etc?

@@heatherloses My prep diet was just one week of high protein low carb. I believe they base it on bmi and other factors. It certainly wouldn't hurt to do a day or two of liquids. After seeing my liver in the surgery video, I wished I had have been more strict preop. There were no complications and my liver didn't look fatty but it was big and in the way. Could tell it made the surgery take longer.Just my observation.

Hi guys, here's my update, I'm back home now, and feeling better, I have to admit my first 48 hours were pretty miserable, but I'm able to keep nausea at bay now. I have had some pain but mostly soreness, I think the first night after surgery I overdid it with walking too much, like every hour quite a bit, then the pain meds have me nausea on top of that so thus began my misery. But Thank you God I am feeling much better now! Yeah!!!

Oh! Also wanted to add a tip, whenever your mouth is really dry before when you can't drink anything or after surgery ask for a cup of cold water to rinse your mouth out with, I did and gargled it too, that really, really helped.
