  • Hi Everyone. I apologize I have not been on. I had my surgery on Monday and had my IV's in for my liquids and pain meds. Day 2 was rough for me. I could not handle sips of water or oral pain meds. Eve

@@Msnursekrystal weigh to go!!! I was up walking 15 minutes after I got back to my room!!! It certainly is what helped!!! Keep up the great work!!

My husband's afraid for me. I'm fine right now. Go in at 1045 tomorrow. Wish me luck guys

That's great! You will do just fine. I'm sure your doctor cleared you or you wouldn't be doing this. My husband was the same way! I was calm & ready to get it over with and he looked like he was going to cry. It broke my heart. My husband doesn't cry, and he didn't ( that I know of). Your husband loves you & I'm sure he will be a great support for you after. Best of luck tomorrow!

@@Msnursekrystal YEAH! You go girl! Woo hoo! Next week at this time i will too! Walk walk walk sip sip sip!

. My husband is the same way! When I got my approval over the phone he said "you know this scares me don't you?" I told him I knew that but I wanted to be healthier and happier (with me) for my grandchildren so I wouldn't do anything that I thought would bd dangerous. He grown to accept it and is even going to stay the night at the hospital with me, and he's never done that when I've been in hospital. I went for pre-op today start clear liquids tomorrow and surgery the 26th, so I'm getting a little nervous but I'm not about to let him know tht lol...good luck and God speed with your surgery.

It is really bizarre that I had surgery on Thursday and I'm not hungry. 1/4-1/3 cup of food depending on the consistency is enough. I know we read this ahead of time, and hear it over and over but I had that fear in the back of my mind of "what if it's not enough & I'm still hungry?" Now that I am experiencing it first hand it is a reality. Feeling good & looking forward to my first check up on April 13th!

Surgery today and oddly enough, I'm not nervous. I'm excited about the possibilities that are on the horizon. In a few short hours, I'll be an official sleever! Wish me good luck!

I'm a week out! I'm feeling good and heading to my follow up appt.. Down 24 pounds.. 11 Preop and 13 since surgery.

That's awesome! My surgery is tomorrow. I've lost 20lbs on the pre-op diet. Can't wait!

Hello everyone! I am still in Baja California, Mexico. I had my VSG surgery yesterday afternoon and was discharged this morning and am now back at my hotel. It went AMAZING! I have had no gas pain...in fact aside from being a little foggy headed, my tummy is only slightly sore...not at the incisions, just inside. My doctors were totally amazing and had such a great bedside manner. Dr. Ortiz gave me two huge hugs and told me I was beautiful and told me he wants to see my after photos. Talk about blushing. I felt like a teenager.

The facility was so clean and the staff were all kind and beyond caring. This was such a good experience and I can only hope that you all have the same. I plan to go down to the shopping district and pick up a few trinkets to take back.

That's all I have to report. I wish you all great success!!

I'm going in on the 30th a little scared of the gas pains.

Just walk and use your spirometer and you will get through it. Its not that bad...at least to me.
