Egg Drop Soup?

I'm 8 days post op & on full liquids until the 21st. I've been doing great... But I NEED something new!!! I've been having the norm- broths, sugar free Popsicles, etc. a friend said I could strain egg drop soup, just so I can have something different. Is this okay to do?

I'd probably only of it once then be good for a week again.

Yup. And wonton and miso and any other soup through a strainer! I lived on soup for months.

  • Yes. Or you can put the whole thing in a nutra bullet and blend it all to a liquid. Then you also get a bit of protein from the egg.

I loved strained Hot & Sour soup after surgery. Yum!!!

I had strained abondigas soup with no problems.

In my full liquid stage I could do egg drop soup if I strained out any "egg" pcs. Full liquid for me also included cream of chicken, cream of asparagus, cream of tomato, tomato, cream of chicken and herb is yummy, cream of anything... However I had to strain out any tiny bits. Check different stores that might offer you a larger selection of "cream" or liquid soups. I'm over an hour from Kroger and yet made a special trip post op because they offered such a large selection of liquid soups in the organic section. Butternut squash soup. There are so many you shouldn't get board :). wonTon soup less the wonton hahah. You get the picture :)
