Very beginning stage

Hi,

I'm from Ottawa, Canada and have been to the group information session and going to my 1st surgical consult this week. Anybody else from Ottawa going to the WMC?

Looking forward to my appointment and the next steps.

My experience with Weight Loss Surgery has been life-saving. So thankful for this procedure. Hang in there, the process takes time, but it's worth it.

@kcadoret. Try looking for the sugar free freezies. That's what I used. I think I found them at Independent Grocers.

Thanks jcmo I'll check them out tomorrow!

Thanks jcmo I'll check them out tomorrow!

@@kcadoret, did you find them at Independant ?

No... But it isn't really freezie season yet....

Jcmo these 5 days can't past fast enough. I'm so done with the Optifast and this liquid diet. I'm trying to distract myself as much as possible because I keep thinking about how badly I want to eat a sandwich. I feel like the after op challenges will be less mental and more logistical.

Bring on Thursday! :)

@kcadoret. I totally know how you feel. The sad part is you will be on liquids/soft foods for a long time. But at least you will have a few different flavours.

I'm 20days post up and pretty much still eat yogurt and Soup. I have tried deli meat, didn't sit well. Tried tuna. It was ok but still felt weird. food is definitely a challenge post op. But you aren't physically hungry. It's more head hunger. I am nauseous or queasy a lot. But that seems to be the new norm. I haven't vomited yet so that's good.

I know we have lots of challenges to overcome, but we can do it. ????

THIS IS IT !!! Just had my last meal before starting the shakes. I am starting my Optimist tomorrow morning.....Yikes!

Got my sugar free Jello, Gum, Crystal Light, Chicken broth, etc... Bring them on.....I will beat those shakes!

@tintin. Woohoo! 3 wks til surgery! Way to go! Tomorrow starts a new beginning! Good luck and keep us posted!

Had my first Optifast shake this morning. Was not as bad as I expected. This is somewhat encouraging. It was chocolate flavoured. I will try the vanilla later today.

@@Tintin I like the vanilla shake with a mixture of water and coffee. The chocolate is also nice with some peppermint or coffee.

Best of luck :)
