Pre-Op Diet

I'm on day 3 of my clear liquid diet. Honestly, I didn't think I would make it past the first day. Feeling pretty good about that. I am super dizzy today. I couldn't sleep last night due to a major migrane. Then I got super hungry about midnight. I didn't eat. I just laid there in bed until I eventually fell into a restless sleep. I understand the reasoning behind this diet. But, I have to function at work. Any suggestions?

Can you have Powerade Zero? It really helps with the carb/sugar withdrawal headaches. Pickle juice works too, but not many people want to drink that.

@@jenbaby75, Ha, pickle juice. At this point, I'll try anything.

Why lie I drank pickle juice twice.. but too much sodium! But helps..

Vitamin Water zero helps me through the day when i feel sluggish.

Wow, Day 12. No Cheats! It's getting hard. Never thought I would make it this far. If I can do this, I can be successful post surgery. I feel good though. Amazing what a good cleanse can do for you.

When I was struggling the first few days, I looked at the fat hangin' off my body and said, "Nah, I ain't gonna starve any time soon!" And that seriously helped when my head-hunger was telling me that I was starving. Nah, not even close to starving. After the third day my body stopped demanding solid food and just said, "Yeah dude, whatever. I'll live with the Protein shakes then." And then we were fine.

And don't forget that these few weeks are just a tiny blip on the radar of your life.
