So i have decided to weight myself 1 week post surgery and I have not lost a significant amount of weight. Since last Tuesday I have lost 5 pounds. Is this normai? I am on a liquid diet and getting my Protein and Water in as directed yet still not loosing weight. Any one else having these issues and if so when can I expect a turnaround?

  • Normal. I lost 5 pounds my first week as well. Don't think of it as "only" and don't consider 5 pounds a small amount. Pile up 5 pounds of hamburger if you have it in the house or next time your in

  • Ok guys lets put this in perspective... When's the last time you lost 5-7lbs in a week?????

Normal, I was up 7 pounds due to fluid for over a week after surgery. The next week I dropped those 7 and 8 more. It just takes some time for your body to adjust.

Same here! Not much weight loss at all. Getting everything in as directed, but I guess it's because we are still "surgery swollen". I weight once a week only. I refuse to keep jumping on that thing every day and risk driving myself batsh*t crazy. :)

So next Wednesday, the scale and I have a date. This morning it said "207". Last Wednesday, the day of surgery, it said 210. Okay...putting it away for a week. I am happy to say I've lost a LOT of inches! Yes!!

But yes it's totally normal. Anything from a 10lb gain to a 20lb loss is pretty much normal. We are all different!

Normal. I lost 5 pounds my first week as well. Don't think of it as "only" and don't consider 5 pounds a small amount. Pile up 5 pounds of hamburger if you have it in the house or next time your in the grocery store. It's not little.

I found that I started to lose more once I started on whole foods and started walking a bit more.

Ya its normal... I convinced one of the nurses to let me weigh myself the second day in the hospital... She laughed at me and assured me that it was Water weight but I was not going to be happy! Had surgery on Friday and by Sunday afternoon I had gained 15lbs!!! Apparently each IV bag give you about 2.5 lbs (side note: my husband and I couldn't figure out if I had really fat feet or if they were just swollen)

I have weighed myself everyday since I got home and I'm on day 6 now and just below my surgery day weight so now I plan to only see the scale once a week!

Good Luck!

I lost 14 pounds after being weighed at my one week post op follow up appt. Got we weighed today, which is two weeks post op and down another 5. I refuse to be a scale watcher. I trust in the procedure. It's a certainty that I will lose weight if I stay the course. I feel like I have lost more inches than weight. Two weeks post op and I'm very happy with my progress. I feel much much better and am already wearing some old clothes.

Im a month out and total of 31lbs lost but 14 of it was pre op. I was wearing 4x and now a comfortable 3x in shirts, even could fit a 2x but not loose like I like yet.

I was 6lbs down the first week. I will be 2 weeks this coming Tuesday that will be my next weigh in. I'm very happy with anything. I know this is a slow process and I am in it for the long haul. Be patient by this time next year we will be skinny... Woohoo imagine that ????

Its nice to know im not alone. Im 5 days post op and haven't lost any, but today is the first day i haven't felt so bloated
