I am new to this forum and I am in the beginning stages of my journey.. I have my first appt with the NP on Tuesday 9/2.. I have health first and I believe I have to do 6 month diet.. My question is.. does everyone have an endoscopy ?

Hi and congrats on your choice to be healthy no my surgeon did not require one but everyones surgeons and programs are different mine required a mandatory exercise class with a trainer . Good luck and keep us posted.

My surgeon required one, he is looking to see if you have problems with your stomach. I have no problems in that area, but I have a hiatal hernia that he will fix when he does my surgery.

It really is an easy test and you get to sleep while they do it.

I didn't have one but another woman who had my surgeon did. I'm sure each patient is different.

It was a requirement for my surgeon. He was checking for signs of GERD and the shape oft stomach. He said if it's too curved he recommends the bypass because you have a higher chance of kinking with the sleeve.
