Hi September Sleevers - I have my surgery on Sept. 16 and just started the liquid diet. Leenie - you asked for suggestions. I am allowed 3 protein shakes a day, lots of green veggies (raw or cooked, but only green), clear soup broth, crystal light, tea (decaf), coffee (not sure if that has to be decaf or not, so I'm playing it safe and using decaf), SF jello and SF popsicles. I kept asking over the internet and lots of places about which kinds of protein drinks taste the best. I have to have at least 17 grams of WHEY (no soy) protein, about 10 1/2 oz. and not more than 150 calories. I can mix them with almond milk unsweetened vanilla. So far I have had the unjury powder, the Body Tech (from the Vitamin Shoppe) cookies & cream powder and A powder made by Jay Robb called Tropical Dreamsicle. The 1st two were pretty good. The Dreamsicle (which I'm having for lunch right now) is just fair. I added a little vanilla extract to help it. I also bought at the Vitamin Shoppe a bottle of Apple Melon Isopure whey Protein drink that looks good - but I haven't opened it yet. Please keep me posted on things that you find.

I tried isopure and you either love it or hate it. I have away all the other 5 jars since I can't stand it. It seems to be dry to me and have a strange aftertaste if that makes any sense

Just went to my last appointment today! They will be submitting the paperwork and per them..usually will hear back from insurance company within 72 hours! I am excited and scared at the same time! LoL

I'm still waiting for my approval & date. I expect it to be in September . I'm having a hard time finding a good meal replacement shake for my 2 week liquid diet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Lots of blessings to all.

23 more days to fat freedom :) start pre-op on the 15th *excited

I love this. My pre op diet starts on the 15th as well. 20 more days of "fat freedom". Tonight is Mexican and later this week is Pizza. That is all. I've been watching what I've been eating for months now. Just a couple last hurrahs!!

@@lose4life2 Congratulations to you!! I've been enjoying my favorites, all you can eat crab legs, tacos, pizza, pasta and just plain ole good eating! Lol!! I'm done now, starting to get into the reality of this new stomach/body! :)

We had our pre-op appointment with Dr. Jay today and our little class about the surgery. We start the clear liquid diet tomorrow. I'm so excited and anxious for next Thursday to be here!

Oh yeah, and we're going out for Mexican for our last pre-op meal. Love me some tacos. :)

Did you have to say tacos? Lol. My surgery is Sept. 17 and I started my pre-op diet today. I just had a bowl of chicken broth with a little poultry seasoning and black pepper. Not too bad but I really want some real food. I am already afraid that I won't make it through the next 2 weeks without cheating. God I pray the cravings go away! As usual I didn't really get hungry for favorite foods until I started the pre-op diet. Now I am suddenly craving everything I can't have. I need some willpower. Never expected this!

Been on the liquid diet for a week and I lost 10 pounds. So the end result will be good. Just save a cheat 1 for something good.
