horrible back pains

So I am 4 days post op and I am having these horrible back pains. Did anyone else experience these types of pains. I feel them in my lower and upper back. Should I go get some gas x. I haven't taken a bowel movement either yet.

Your body cavity was filled with gas so the surgeon had room to move around. This gas can cause a lot of pain but mostly in your upper left shoulder. Warm heating pads and walking seem to help some people. And some prefer karate chops on the shoulder to ease the pain.

Try the gas x. I bet it will help.

Gas-X can only give relief for inside the digestive tract...the pain people who have undergone laproscopic surgery is as 2MF describe as Co2 pumped inside the body cavity to inflate to give a little room to work.

Gas-X will not touch it. If it did you have some serious life threatening problems....

Another thing to remember, you were under full anesthesia, laying in perhaps in a very uncomfortable position... a OR table that for good reasons, are not very soft....lower back pain is very common post op for many people.....

I hope you're feeling better -- the walking around as much as possible helps with everything. I really wondered about the positioning on the table, whether my arm was put into a funny place that created the left shoulder pain. And many people sleep with pillows under their knees but as B52 says the OR table is a hard, flat surface. Get up and walk around all you can and know that you will feel better each day. Meanwhile, congratulations on getting the surgery done. You are on your way now -- a whole new chapter of your life unfolding.

Hi ...I recieved my band 4 days ago as well. Have the back pain that you speak of. It seems to help if I keep the heating pad on my tummy where the incisions are. Still have lots of chest pain and pressure. I had a hernia repaired at the same time. Did you?
