I currently don't measure anything but thought coming upto 6 months and loosing some hair, thought I might just try and track my Protein. I have never been given a goal each day but would be happy to hear from people on what their goals are on my fitness pal??? I think 60gms of protein is about normally and between 800-1000 calories, once again not really sure :(

I'm 3-1/2 months out and get a minimum of 75 G Protein and eat 750-950 calories a day. I love my fitness pal and think it helps me even more than my surgery at times.

I'm at 45% Protein, 30% fat, 25% carb....no, I don't always achieve that but I do try.

I shoot for 70g Protein, no more than 30-40g carbs, and 100 oz Water. I don't worry too much about the sugar because with sticking to those three main goals, the sugar and fat is usually right where it needs to be. Same with calories. I don't really count them too much. I try to stick to my Protein and carb goals and then the calories usually end up between 550-750.

So far my doctor has recommended 80-100 g of Protein a day and an upper limit for carbs. I don't even pay attention to the percentages and calorie goals that mfp gives because its just not reflective of my actual needs or my doctor's recommendations. I just look at my running totals for protein and carbs, which is all I'm really trying to focus on at this point.

I have my fitness pall set to: carbohydrates 20 Protein 60 fats 20. My calorie intake is set to 700. I'm getting in about 500 to 600 calories a day. I hope I'm on the right track. I see the nutritionist in august.

Like livvsmum I use My Fitness Pal, and try very hard to keep carbs below 30 g per day and have been getting between 60-70 g Protein each day. Where I struggle is with my Water intake. I make it a point every morning to say that I'm going to do better today, but I don't get that much in. It's hard with having to wait 30 minutes after eating something and trying to stop drinking at least 15 minutes before you start to eat. I'm just not a big fan of plain Water and need to add some crystal light or something to make it taste better. But I don't really worry about calories; just try to avoid the carbs and sodium as much as possible.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
