June 30th Surgery Date

Hi,

Looking to find some people have surgery around the same date as me! Hoping we can go through this process together and talk about our experience along the way!

Yesterday was the pre-op appt. Day 2 of the liquid diet. Going good--but I have a confession. I was watching a TV "food" commercial, my mouth was watering like crazy--then I realized it was a commercial for CAT FOOD!

i am day 5 of 10 days clear liquid/protien shake festivities .....it's amazing but down 13 pounds ....so yea me.

Day 3 of liquid diet. I must say that today things are much easier

Day 4 of the pre-op diet for me. I am allowed raw veggies for the first 5 days and that helps me from feeling ravenous. Monday here we come!

Day 4 of liquid diet almost over. After two days I gave up on sugar free Jello & popsicles due to the horrible artificial sweetener after taste. Decaf coffee, green tea, Perrier Water and clear broth is what I'm doing with a Vitamin Zero Water once a day. Never have liked artificial sweeteners and now can't take the sugar free stuff at all. Only 3 days left to surgery day.

June 30th surgery, three more days to go very excited and nervous also.

Awesome! I'm glad there will be a group of us going through similar things around the same time! I'm 30 and from Nebraska! Anyone near by?

I think I have figured this liquid diet out now...what to eat/drink with what do it didn't upset my stomach. I also received my pre surgery registration call today. My surgery was bumped back 2 hours but that just means more sleep for me :) SURGERY @ 10 am cst! Check-in at 730 am!

Just got my phone call with the time of my surgery on Monday June 30...I'm the last case for the day and my surgery is at 3:45 pm and I have to be there by noon! YIKES that's late!! Getting so nervous :/

Glad I have an 8:00 surgery time. At the hospital at 5:30 a.m.

I am scheduled for 0730. Very grateful for the early OR time.

Mine is Monday. It was at 9am and got a call last night pushing it to 11:30. I get why it might be bumped earlier, but why later? Good for hubby to sleep in, bad for me (thirst and nerves). Although, I can't wait-I'm not really nervous. Day after tomorrow-wow! I'm trying to think what I need to buy from the store today.

Hi June 30th buddies! Less than 48 hours to go! My surgery is at 10:30am and I have to be at the hospital at 8:30am. My pre-op diet included vegetables for the first 5 days, which was great, but now it is 3 shakes/day and Clear liquids only for the final two days. I feel a little weak but ok. I was quite hungry so I heated up a big bowl of vegetable broth and that is definitely helping. Has anyone starting packing for the hospital yet or shopping for the first few days at home? Here are my lists:

hospital:

phone and charger

vaseline or chapstick

magazine (for the pre-op waiting room)

gas-x strips

small pillow for the car ride home

what I bought for the first few days:

Vitamin Water zero

small disposable cups

crystal light

vegetable broth

sugar-free Jello

sugar-free popsicles

decaf teabags

What's on your list? I hope everyone is managing the pre-op jitters ok!
