  • Why on earth are there no pre op diets? your liver has to shrink and thats how it is done with the diet. no pre op is not good!

Not sure but my doc is one top in Denver. So I'm not worried. He does these all the time and since he has the medical degree I tend to trust them. Lol I work around docs everyday and lean towards listening to them. Mostly. ;-) My bmi isn't really high that might be why.

yes,,,, suggestion.. i would do a preop diet for the liver. you need your fatty liver to decrease to avoid possible complications.. im not sure why no preop diet and i would watch that!!!!! Serioulsly trying to help.

Chris

ok I am sure the doctors know better than I do I have to do a prep and I am not looking forward to it.

My Dr. only requires certain people to do a Pre-op diet, I don't know if i will be on one or not, and he's at a Center of Excellence and I know several of his patients and they have done great!

Yes I believe that it depends on the patient. I guess I'm a lucky one. I was absolutely terrified of this diet. I've read and read so much about it that it gave me anxiety. I'm just grateful. Like I said my doc is the same as yours. Service of excellence and no complaints. So I'm hoping for the best.

Kaiser Perm South Sac Bariatric program is rated one of the best in the country. I'm confident with their choice of no pre-op diet. Very thankful too.

Sacramento valley is a great place to live. I love California . Good luck to you. Keep in touch. ❤️

I was not looking forward to my pre op diet, but....it helped me prepare for after the surgery. I'd definitely cut down in the next couple of weeks.

Yes absolutely. I've already been doin that. I don't wanna be shocked. I've been trying to sip which sucks. Lol I've bought different types of protein mixers different brands. I'm hoping one of them I'll like after surgery. Lol working hard mentally and physically to prepare myself.

  • 4 weeks later...

I did the diet for 2 weeks and my surgery only took 35 mins. So on to the new skinny me I am a little bit hungry even after surgery as i have had nothing but ice chips for 2 days
