Have you selected a surgeon or gone through any of the process as of yet? I'm planning on having mine in September.

Yeah, I'm actually going to go to Mexico. It's not covered by my insurance and the price difference is huge. I've done my research and talked to people about it. I haven't sent my deposit in yet but finally made my choice.

I can understand your dilemna. It breaks my heart to hear that people can't get the care they need because something isn't covered by insurance, that the insurance benefits from if they do the procedure.

Please take care of yourself and let us know how things go. Please do everything possible (I'm sure you will) to be safe and healthy. :)

Good luck. I know nothing about going to Mexico so I'm afraid I can't offer much in the way of advice. I'm sure if you do your research then everything will work out great.

I'm in Williamsburg... Anyone in this area ever plan a meetup?

  • Author

@ThreeCrows Why don't we? After the holiday weekend? Next weekend - the 6th? Should we message people? Maybe a spot mid way between here and Williamsburg or do we want to see if the Richmond people want to meet - in Williamsburg maybe?

@@swimbikerun

Yes! I'm still pre-op... Scheduled for the 15th. I'd be happy to meet up here in Williamsburg, or halfway. Do you have names?

I'm in Northern Virginia, so Williamsburg is a little far for me.

I'm also in NOVA. I would definitely be up for a meet-up but Williamsburg is pretty far for me for just a day.

My daughter and SIL are stationed in Norfolk so I do get down there from time to time though.

Well what about 2 meet ups and we can flash pix of them together? LOL. Or maybe farther out plan one in Richmond? I think that is a 2 hour drive for me, and probably should be for NoVA.

Would we think about a meeting for the NOVA crowd and then the Willamsburg or Richmond crowd to Hampton Roads.

PS If they're stationed down here, I am a native born Ptowner, lived there and in Chesapeake all my life. If I can help let me know. Although I do warn you - we're Coast Guard. LOL.
