My pre-op visit with my surgeon was today. I start my liquid diet tomorrow and have reached paralyzed fear!! I'm so scared something is going to go wrong! I'm not worried about the pain or sticking with the diet but I'm afraid I'll never wake up again!

I think that is normal but you will regret it if you don't go through with it...it's less than 1% chance of something going wrong...ask the Lord to give you strength and to see you through this surgery, God Bless!!!

I have that same fear, but the fear of doing nothing and dropping dead of a heart attack or some other obesity-related disease is worse.

You know your life path is already drawn. God is in control of everything. Driving to the hospital for your surgery can kill you. If you believe in God put your faith in him. I had no fear of this surgery as my life belongs to God. If it was my time then it was my time. I made it. Easy as closing your eyes and then waking up 2 seconds later. You will be fine. If this surgery scares you think about heart surgery or some other weight related surgery you may end up having to get. You will do great.

I guess we are kind of in the same boat. I start my liquid fast today. It's absolutely common to be nervous. Not everyday will someone go over a procedure like this. But I will say, pray everything will go fine. It's a lot easier to follow the Doctor's order. You will do good.
