I am becoming more and more convinced that I am doing something wrong. I do not feel that I have lost enough weight. My sleeve was 1/20 and I have only lost 37 lbs It has been 2+ months. I see where others have lost that much in the first month!

I am very stressed about this and am not sure what to do. I just hit send on an email to the NP at my surgeon's office and anxiously wait for her reply (which might take several days and before anyone says it, I know if it Sunday and she is not working). I am loosing pounds and have lost inches, but I am afraid it should be more. I am watching everything I eat and doing cardio for 30 minutes 5 times a week.

I am on several medications for Lupus and Fibromyalgia and they cause weight gain (one of the many reasons I am hear now and could not loose). Could that be why I am not loosing as much? Am I doing something wrong?

I know that no one can give me an exact answer to my question, but I could really use some support. Thanks y'all!

37lbs in 2 months is exactly what I lost my first 2 months. I am down 116 now a year later. I don't know where you are getting your stats but 37 was a lot to me and my surgeon was very happy with that. It's best not to compare yourself to others but I think you are right on track for YOU. If you are following your surgeons plan then you are doing fine.

I've lost 43 since my surgery on Dec 31, 2013 and am very happy about it. I can't see your HW on the phone, but mine was relatively low at 232.

I had surgery 1/28 and I'm down 40. I think you are doing great!

If you begin to compare yourself with others you will never see your accomplishments as anything more than OK.

Chin up and keep up the great work!

Hi Jill,

Stop beating yourself up. 37 pounds in 2 months is wonderful, that's 18.5 pounds each month. When have you ever lost that much weight that quickly???? That's 4 or more pounds per week. Don't compare yourself to others because their journey is not your journey. Everyone is different, they have different metabolisms and varied work out routines. When you look at other people's stats they may be including their pre-op weight loss in addition to the post-op, so their stats may be a bit skewed. As long as you are losing you are winning the battle. This is not a race, it's a life style. Remember what the turtle told the hare....slow and steady wins the race. Take care and congratulations on a job well done. Keep up the good work.

4-5 lbs a week in the beginning is AWESOME! Enjoy it now because that amount of rapid loss won't last. At 5 months out I'm thrilled to get one lb a week now which if it keeps up will put me at goal by the time I hit one year. How fast did you expect it to come off?

37 lbs loss is great for being 2 months post op. I do understand how you feel but please don't compare yourselves to others. I am 3+ months out and so far has lost 42.6 lbs since my SW of 12/23/2013 @ 283.6. My HW was 297. I am now 241. I wan't so bad to be in the 230-220's by now, but I know I will get there soon. Stalls are also common and ok. I've been in 3 so far for almost 2-3 weeks each time. Drink your fluids (water, Water, water) and get your Protein in!!! Keep pushing and you'll do just fine.

Calm down. You've lost nearly 20 lbs each month since surgery. I think that by everyone's standards that is successful. Try to keep things in perspective.

I'm losing 2 lbs a week. That's 8lbs a month.

37lbs is good! Just keep doing what you're supposed to, and the weight will keep coming off.

I too felt like I wasn't losing as much as others. I was comparing myself to bypass people. They lose really fast, but have all of the loose skin, Hair loss, gaunt-look issues as well. I have lost 26 since the surgery, but then 17 prior to the surgery. The pounds are slow, but I am down from a size 22 to a snug 16! People see the difference, and I truly feel it too! With this procedure, the loss is slower than the bypass surgery. In looking at other profiles, I see I am about average. Thanks to all for posting your journey! It is good to see where I am with many others.

I was.sleeved 1/4/14 lost 20# The first month and about 7# the second month. Now into week 12 I'm down a total of 40# . Stop stressing about the scale. You will have stalls and slow weeks...your body needs time to adjust to your losses. Just do what your supposed to be doing. And keep away from the slidder foods. Your doing great!

How did this turn into insulting bypass people? :faint:

Thirty-seen pounds in two months is fabulous. Why in the world do you think it's not? I "only" lost 23.2 pounds my first two months. I've never had an 18 pounds lost month and I don't consider myself a failure, a slow loser or anything else other than a success.

It's really important to focus on the positive, on the great strides you are making towards good health and what you've accomplished that you've never managed before. Enjoy the journey instead of stressing over what you cannot control. WOrk your plan and your plan will work for you.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
