Liquid Diet Headache and Nausea

Hi everyone,

My surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday and I started my 7 day liquid diet yesterday. I went to bed with no energy last night and woke up with the biggest headache. I feel so nauseous and weak. Anybody else experiencing this? Does it get better??

i tell u all drs are different.. Mine only required 3 days of liquid diet. id check you may need something small.. But don't just do it on your own cause if you mess up or eat if they don't want you to o even smoke they can and very well will cancel your surgery. So i would call and ask them.. ask about popsicle's that might help

chris

I found the first three days to be a real challenge; also suffered headache and nausea. Drink a lot of Water, crystal light or decaf tea. I found chicken broth to be rather satisfying and sugar-free popsicles good too.

Don't cheat. It's too important. Besides, you'll start dropping pounds in the next couple of days and that will cheer you up!

The first three days are the worst!!! Drink more water/add Crystal Light..Try the Crystal Light with Caffeine...that might help the headache and help with energy levels...Hang in there..

I also had really bad headaches I think it might have been from cutting out sugar, it got better..

Your body is detoxing from carbs and sugar, the 3rd day was the worse for me. Keep drinking water...good luck to you.
