I would like to know how many of you were taking high blood pressure medication and now are off them ... also how long after your surgery and how much weight did you lose before you were taken off the meds... Thanx soo much... and were you monitoring it yourself on a daily basis?? any advice would be helpful,, would love to be off these meds... ^_^

I was on two meds, Diovan HTC and Metoprolol. My surgeon discharged me with instructions to discontinue the Diovan immediately. I still take one Metoprolol a day.

I'm interested in finding this out too when I have my surgery. In the past when I lost 80 lbs., I was taking two meds and reduced to one after losing about 60 lbs. That was good but not great because I want to be off of them completely and I'm hoping that when I reach 100lbs of weight loss I will not need them any longer.

I am still taking my BP med, but at half dosage since surgery. Is likely I will never come off due to my deep family history of hypertension. But a girl can hope!

My BP in April 2013 was 200/135 (unmedicated). I was put on two meds, sleeved on June 6, 2013 at 230 lbs 5' 3.5" tall. I am currently 165 lbs and was recently taken off my BP meds. My BP

Normally runs 100/80 now. Give or take just a few points. Good luck!

I was on Lysinoprol and Hydrochlorothiazide. With the medication I would get to 135/85. The surgeon stopped my medications upon discharge from the hospital. On all my follow ups BP is mid 120/80
