March 2014 Bandsters - Let's Do This!

Any March 2014 Bandsters out there? My date is March 3. I've been trying out different Protein powder mixes and I got my Magic Bullet blender ready for action. Other than that, just counting down. I hope there are others getting banded on my same timeline... are you as nervous as I am?

Banded 2 days ago, not really in pain, but feel very stiff and sore. Just taking Tylenol and Gas X, but kind of bummed that this surgery kicked my butt. Hoping to feel better for the weekend, and ready to get this show on the road!

Don't be bummed. :) Everyone heals differently. I took a total of 8 days before I went back to work. (Read each day on my blog http://banderland.weebly.com). And I'm still not 100%. Just know that it gets better and better with each day.

Congrats to those banded and thank you for posting your experiences. I'm up Monday and ready for this part of the journey to be over with.

Hi all! I'm scheduled for 3/25! I appreciate these forums to get insight on what might be expected : ).

Happy St. Patrick's Day! To celebrate the day, I'm going to get my band. ;) I have to be at the hospital in an hour for echo/ekg, then surgery is set for 1:00. Let's get this over with.

Just thinking of you today. Hope everything goes well. See you on the banded side :)

Day 8 of pre-op sugar busters diet.. My para brings in green cupcakes for St. Patty's day for the kids! A green cupcake has never looked and smell so good! But I made it through! Ive been good so far..I deviated a bit yesterday by having some fried zaxbys tenders but everything else has been baked or grilled. I've only been eating veggies, lean meats, protein shakes and a couple protein candy bars.

Yeah! !! Finally made it to the banded side. I had my surgery around noon yesterday. I had enlarged artery near my liver that had to be moved to get to my stomach. While moving it, the surgeon nicked a vein and had to repair it, but other than that, everything went great. Yesterday is a bit of a blur, but I managed to move around a little. Today has been pretty good. I have had my crystal light and protein shake and I've gotten up and walked around the house to get the air out.

Clbsmm2000, congratulations! Take care of yourself and keep us posted. It gets easier.

Hello everyone, my surgery date is March 31. I'm on day 2 of the 14 day liquid diet. I'm having the hardest time. I'm so hungry and so ready to chew my food instead of drinking it. Do anyone have any suggestions?

Just got my insurance approval! Secondary denied..BOO! Surgery on March 27! Pre-op diet going well-down 12#...
